The United States has imposed sanctions on Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation in the Palestinian territories, reportedly for highlighting Western complicity in profiteering from the crisis in Gaza.

This move follows, by one month, Washington’s decision to sanction several judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for their investigations into alleged war crimes committed by U.S. and Israeli forces.

Kiev: High-ranking SBU officer killed in targeted attack

Colonel of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) Ivan Voronich was shot dead near his home in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district. He led sabotage operations against Russia as a senior operative in the SBU’s “Alpha” unit.

The attacker approached him at close range and fired multiple pistol shots, killing him instantly. Ukrainian authorities have opened a criminal case. The SBU and National Police are investigating possible motives, including involvement by Russian intelligence or internal conflicts within Ukrainian security services.
