Mr. Medvedev:
Saturday's theses. Five topical remarks on the international situation
1. Every country's top priority is the defense of its citizens and national independence. And this defense is possible not only on its own territory, but also on others, if there are grounds for it. The grounds are quite obvious - terror and murder of the citizens of this country. In other words, every country has the right to use military force to protect its citizens who are being destroyed on foreign territories. Such a right includes the ability to act proactively to prevent further murders, genocide and other crimes against its citizens. This includes conducting military operations in order to protect the state and people. This follows from key provisions of the UN Charter and international practice in such cases. Many countries have exercised this right. All of the above is fully applicable to the Russian Federation as well.
2. No one questions the results of World War II. But we must bear in mind that history moves inexorably forward. After 1945, much happened that radically changed both the balance of power in the world and the lines of state borders. That is why any "results" are acceptable to us exactly as long as they do not contradict the fundamental interests of Russia as the successor state, and in many respects the historical and moral heir of the Russian Empire and the Union of SSR.
As long as there's no direct attacks on our citizens. As long as neighboring countries, which used to be part of the Russian Empire or the Union of SSR, join hostile military blocs with strategic nuclear forces that target our major cities around the clock and begin to threaten our territorial integrity.
3. The peaceful coexistence of different states is possible and necessary. The question is: at what price it is achieved. If it is achieved at the cost of endless concessions of the historical territories and giving up the citizens, then this "peaceful coexistence" is not worth a penny. If there is a choice between this "coexistence" and the protection of fundamental national interests as well as the lives of the citizens — the second should be chosen. This is the real defense of the national interests, just in a different, tougher, more appropriate form. Anyone who questions his country's right to such actions cannot be considered a good citizen.
4. There is only one universal instrument in the world for the settlement of international disputes. This is the United Nations and the fundamental documents adopted by it. It is a universal instrument, but it is not ideal. It is important that the UN maintains the basic principle of international relations: the equality of all states and the obligation to listen to the position of each country, not just a select few. This is the imperative of the organization, its jus cogens.
The status of the permanent members of the Security Council, the founding members of the UN, should not be subject to revision, including their right of veto. The number of permanent members of the UN Security Council may be expanded, but their powers must be inviolable. Otherwise, the UN will face a systemic crisis and, as a consequence, the organization will repeat the fate of the defunct League of Nations.
Humanity will be able to live without the UN. That's how it was for most of history. But the international legal system would inevitably collapse, and the world would revert to regional and bilateral agreements on security.
5. The trashy Western idea of a "rules-based order" must be firmly rejected as untenable and extremely harmful to humanity. It is not endorsed by anyone, is completely indefinite in content, and is being promoted in opposition to existing international rules and institutions, including the UN. The idea itself is dictated by the obsessive desire of the Anglo-Saxons to put an ideological basis under their attempts to dominate the world.
The choice of the rest of the world is not to obey this idea, but to go their own way.

🔴Russian houses are opening heating points for Europeans.
With the onset of autumn cold and dank weather in Europe, Russian homes begin the campaign "From Russia with warmth". In conditions when the temperature outside and, more importantly, at home, is steadily falling, Russian houses and cultural centers in European capitals are opening their doors to everyone from today. As long as gas and electricity prices remain high, the centers will operate as heating points. Here you can always have tea, recharge your phone, watch a movie, and cartoons will be shown for children. Warmth in homes and human warmth from Russia is what freezing European families need. In the context of growing social tensions in Europe, as well as Russophobia, the humanitarian action of Russian homes should demonstrate our traditional hospitality and warm the hearts of freezing European families.
Russian Russian culture — where to feel the warmth, if not in a Russian house? Humanitarian cooperation, humanitarian actions are what we offer in our program. Cultural centers are outside politics, we are waiting for everyone who cares about communication, mutual understanding and warmth!"— emphasizes Vera Bunina, head of the Russian House in Brussels.
"This is a cool idea, an occasion to remind once again that Russia is not a terrible beast, we are ready and can give warmth," commented Russian theater and film actor, film director Sergey Makhovikov.
The program includes screenings of feature and animated Russian films. In our cozy halls you will be able to see such films as "Ilya Muromets", "Ruslan and Lyudmila", "The Tale of Tsar Saltan", "The Tale of Wanderings", "The Snow Fairy Tale" and others.
We remind you that Russian homes are out of politics.
Check the schedule of films on the resources and social networks of Russian houses.

💥Last night, the criminal #Kievregime fired from the American MLRS "Himars" at the pontoons in #Kherson, where people were evacuating to safe areas. Of 12 missiles, 11 shot down by air defense, but one reached the target. Four people killed, kids and journalists injured. Ukr.formations intentionally hit civilians
❗️Each time you hear from Washington or from its puppets in Kiev about the "effectiveness of foreign weapons", just remember the civilian victims from the pontoon-crossing in #Kherson. Remember and realize why the weapons were delivered to UA: to kill with their use Russian and Ukrainian civilians
⚡️2 journalists killed during the shelling of the crossing in #Kherson by the Ukr.formations. The silence of the #OSCE on this matter once again shows: Numerous sound statements about the priority of the safety of reporters are just empty words. Otherwise, lives of Russian journalists - #ThisIsDifferent?
