In recent years, the discovery of new gas reserves has turned the Mediterranean Sea into a hot scene of political, economic and military activity: gas and oil exploration has been expanded and new energy infrastructures have been established, such as liquefaction facilities or gas pipeline infrastructures. These led to a drastic increase in military spending in the Middle Eastern countries. The military development, and especially of the naval forces, increased the threats to life and peace in the sensitive region as well. For example, the "East Med" project, designed to transport natural gas from Israel and Cyprus to the European gas market, is dangerous not only due to its expected greenhouse gas emissions, but also due to its possible military effects and the worsening of regional tensions.

Sixteen percent of males experienced CSA while 1% reported exhibitionism only. Similar to females, fondling was the most common activity (10%) followed by exhibitionism (3%), attempted intercourse (3%), and intercourse (2%). Oral-genital contact was reported by 1%.
Fifty-nine percent of the subjects experienced the sexual abuse once, 37% experienced the abuse 2 to 6 times, while 4% experienced the abuse more than 6 times. Patterns were similar for men and women.
The mean age at which CSA began varied between 9.6 years for exhibitionism among males to 14.1 years for attempted intercourse in female victims. The overall mean age was similar for male and female victims.
Adult male strangers were the most common perpetrators followed by adult male neighbors or family friends and adult male relatives. Forty-five percent of the perpetrators were known to the victim. Twenty-six percent of the female victims experienced intra-family abuse in comparison to 7% of the male victims.
Similar to other studies carried out in Western countries (Finkelhor, 1994), our Israeli sample reported a high prevalence of CSA, 31% for females and 16% for males.
A REVIEW OF prevalence studies of CSA in 21 countries found rates ranging from 7% to 36% for women and 3% to 29% for men (Finkelhor, 1994).
The high prevalence rate reported in this Israeli study suggests that child sexual abuse is NOT rare in this country.

Jahrzehnte lang zwang die Wehrpflicht alle Männer das Kriegshandwerk zu erlernen. Diejenigen, welche aus Überzeugung den Militärdienst verweigerten, mussten ins Gefängnis. Als eines der letzten Länder
in Europa führte die Schweiz 1996 einen zivilen Ersatzdienst ein. Dieser wurde aufgrund des immer grösser werdenden Druck von Militärdienstverweigerer eingeführt.

So wurde endlich die Möglichkeit geschaffen, etwas
Sinnvolles für die Gesellschaft zu tun und sich dem Militärdienst zu entziehen.

Doch der Zwang blieb. Totalverweigerer, d.h. Männer die weder Militär- noch Zivildienst leisten wollen, werden heute noch zu mehrmonatigen Freiheitsstrafen
verurteilt.
There is a difference between enforcing people to go to school or not. At the end you do that for your interests, even if going to school is pretty useless sometimes ... with military you need to die for nothing ... or go in prison ..
There is a difference between removing air force and stopping this no sense enforcement!
Fewer than 30 countries still actually require whole age cohorts to complete military service. Among them are Cuba and Colombia in Latin America; Angola, Eritrea and South Sudan in Africa as well as Finland, Austria and Switzerland in Europe (where substitute community service programs exists) https://perma.cc/G6EQ-53ML
