Verses 24-25 have always given me motivation to encourage others and meet together with friends in the faith.
Verses 26-27 (red underlined) might be the scariest verses in the Bible. How many times have I knowingly, willfully sinned even though I had knowledge of the truth?? WHAT could this mean for me??
I turned to Matthew Henry’s commentary for insight:
“The author of Hebrews is here describing the sin of apostasy. This is sinning wilfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, sinning wilfully against that truth of which we have had convincing evidence. This text has been the occasion of great distress to some gracious souls they have been ready to conclude that every wilful sin, after conviction and against knowledge, is the unpardonable sin: but this has been their infirmity and error. The sin here mentioned is a total and final apostasy, when men with a full and fixed will and resolution despise and reject Christ, the only Saviour,—despise and resist the Spirit, the only sanctifier,—and despise and renounce the gospel, the only way of salvation, and the words of eternal life and all this after they have known, owned, and professed, the Christian religion, and continue to do so obstinately and maliciously. This is the great transgression.”

Even Paul, Gods chosen instrument to minister to the Gentiles, dealt with serious fear and weakness at times. Fear is not a sign that God isn’t calling you or cannot use you. In fact, it may be in the humility to acknowledge your own weakness where the Holy Spirit can take the reigns for you.
How often do we confuse talent and eloquence with the power of the Holy Spirit?

Matthew Henry on the Beatitudes (1714):
This sermon by Jesus is designed to rectify the ruinous mistakes of a blind and carnal world. The general opinion is, Blessed are they that are rich, and great, and honourable in the world they spend their days in mirth, and their years in pleasure they eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and carry all before them with a high hand - those are the blessed.
Now our Lord Jesus comes to correct this fundamental error, to advance a new hypothesis, and to give us quite another notion of blessedness and blessed people, which, however paradoxical it may appear to those who are prejudiced, yet is in itself, and appears to be to all who are savingly enlightened, a rule and doctrine of eternal truth and certainty, by which we must shortly be judged. If this, therefore, be the beginning of Christ’s doctrine, the beginning of a Christian’s practice must be to take his measures of happiness from those maxims, and to direct his pursuits accordingly.

David Ben-Gurion, Israel’s founding father and first Prime Minister, played a crucial role in shaping the policies and strategies that led to the creation of the State of Israel in 1948. His views on the need for a Jewish majority in the newly established state included the idea of population transfer, which became a significant aspect of the Zionist movement’s approach to securing territory. This strategy culminated in what is known as the Nakba (“Catastrophe” in Arabic), during which over 700,000 Palestinians were forcibly displaced from their homes as a result of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. The Nakba left deep scars on the Palestinian people, as they were uprooted from their homelands, often facing violence, loss of property, and the destruction of entire villages.
While Ben Gurion saw the displacement of Palestinians as an unfortunate consequence of the broader conflict, his policies and decisions contributed to the widespread displacement that occurred during the Nakba.
In contemporary times, the legacy of Ben-Gurion’s views on the displacement of Arabs and the prioritization of a Jewish state continues to influence Israeli policy. The United States, as Israel’s most significant ally, provides billions of dollars in military and economic aid to Israel each year. This financial support has been crucial in bolstering Israel’s military capabilities and enabling its ongoing military operations in Palestinian territories, including the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Critics argue that this U.S. aid indirectly supports policies that perpetuate the suffering of Palestinians, including continued settlement expansion, military occupation, and actions that many view as a continuation of the Nakba’s legacy of displacement and dispossession.
Supporters of Israel, however, argue that U.S. aid is vital for Israel’s security in a hostile region and that the Israeli government’s actions are necessary for the survival of the state amidst persistent threats. They view the conflict primarily through the lens of security and see the displacement or marginalization of Palestinians as an unavoidable consequence of the broader struggle for Israel’s survival.

What may appear as an insignificant list of names (see Genesis 5 - from Adam to Noah) becomes an incredible picture of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! When you put the meanings of these names together, you get:
“Man [is] appointed mortal sorrow, [but] the blessed God shall come down Teaching [that] His death brings [the] despairing comfort or rest.”
I mean, wow! God is a God of purpose and detail, and this is no exception. Or do you think it's just a coincidence?

In the quiet of night, when the soul is laid bare, Where shadows of pride dissolve into prayer, A heart bows low, beneath the weight of its kin, There’s beauty, profound, in admitting our sin.
No need for a crown, no need for a throne, For grace is found when we stand all alone. With a whisper, a tear, in the stillness within, God’s mercy flows when we confess our sin.
The burden we carried, the guilt we once bore, Released in the moment we knock at His door. In the humblest plea, a new life begins, For grace is found in confessing our sins.

A poem inspired by Luke 22:40-43
In the shadow of a cross, from a heart weighed down with grief, A plea for mercy whispered, from a humbled, dying thief. “Remember me,” he softly uttered, through trembling lips and fear, To the Savior hanging next to him, whose kingdom drew so near.
With eyes of endless mercy, and a voice that knew no lies, The Savior turned and promised him a place in Paradise. Not by deeds or earthly might, nor by the strength of man,
But by the grace of God alone, through Love’s eternal plan.
In that moment, time stood still, and heaven’s gates swung wide, for the thief’s soul awakened, now forever by His side. Redemption in a single breath, forgiveness full and free, The wonder of a broken heart, embraced eternally.

To love the one who casts the stone,
To pray for those who chill the bone.
To bend the knee and lift a prayer,
For those who left your spirit bare?
A hand to wound, a word to burn,
To teach a lesson, for that you yearn.
Yet in the struggle, grace is found,
In loving enemies, you earn a crown.
A battle rages in your heart.
To forgive the wrong, is hard to start.
For in your pain, compassion grows,
A gentle tide where mercy flows.
To love our foes, though hearts may tear,
Is finding peace in whispered prayer.
To pray for those who chill the bone.

Beneath the desert’s sun so hot,
In whispered tones, a scheme they plot.
The dreamer’s coat, now stained with red, A brother sold, as if he’s dead.
The silver coins, they clink and gleam, As Joseph’s fate becomes a dream.
To Jacob, old and full of trust,
They brought the robe, in blood and dust.
“A beast,” they said, “has torn him down,” And Jacob wept, his grief unbound.
But had he questioned, looked beyond, Seen through the tale, so swiftly spawned,
The first conspiracy, a cruel deceit,
Might not have brought him such defeat.
For trust can blind where truth should reign, And lies can thrive in love’s domain.
If Jacob’s gaze had pierced their lies, He’d see the truth behind their eyes.
Yet in the shadows, grace would grow, A greater plan he’d come to know.
But trust and doubt, they weave and play, In Joseph’s tale, of yesterday.

Beneath the sun’s warm, golden sweep,
He stands, a man where boys now leap,
On fields where dreams are sown and spun,
His sons and others’ boys now run.
An old Phillies cap, worn soft and frayed,
Holds echoes of the games he played,
When youth was endless, time stood still,
And every game was heart and will.
He almost touched that shining place,
The big leagues, where the legends race,
But fate, with quiet hands of age,
Closed the chapter on that page.
Yet here, within this diamond’s grace,
He finds a joy he thought misplaced,
As young hands grip the bat and ball,
He feels again that magic call.
He teaches more than just the game—
Respect, resolve, a steady flame—
For life is like those innings passed,
Full of moments, meant to last.
He sees his sons, their eyes alight,
And feels the years take gentle flight,
Back to when his heart was free,
And baseball was his destiny.
But now he knows, with every cheer,
That here, with them, his path is clear—
To pass the torch, the love, the fire,
To let them dream, and reach, and aspire.
For in their joy, he finds his own,
In every pitch and swing, a tone
Of sweet nostalgia, pure and true,
The game lives on, in every hue.
And though the big leagues never came,
He knows he’s won a greater game In teaching what the heart can hold,
In passing on the love of old.

OK, don’t get mad. Yes I think Trump was really shot at. Enjoy the humor:
— MIRACLE EAR —
Trumps miracle ear, an inspiring tale,
It heals the fastest, never frail.
‘Twas hit by a round of rifle munition,
So He hit the deck, in bad condition.
A miracle, the docs declare!
It healed so quick, beyond compare!
Bandages for a week, & no more fuss,
His ear’s a wonder, don’t be sus!
Reporters ask, “How can it be?”
He winks and says, “Well It’s just me!”
His healing power, it’s quite a feat,
Trump’s ear’s a marvel, can’t be beat!
So if you’re hurt, don’t moan, don’t fear.
Just be inspired by Trump’s miracle ear!

I want to express clearly that my love for Jewish people is as genuine as my love for any other people group on earth. I grow tired of being called an antisemite. It is simply not true.
Whenever I share content like this, I grapple with the potential pushback, particularly from fellow Christians who aren’t yet ready to hear it.
Many Christians have been deeply conditioned to avoid exploring these topics, and those who do often face harsh criticism from within the church.
I am convinced that a significant number of Christians in America are unknowingly supporting something they don’t fully understand, rooted in a theology that is increasingly being questioned and even proven false.
This has many Christian leaders on high alert, as they have invested deeply in a particular theological narrative that is being questioned by intelligent Christian folks with large platforms…for the first time.
I’m excited about some upcoming interviews that I believe will bring much-needed clarity to these complex issues.
