What am I really talking about here?

Its Oct 21, 2021, and my career in commercial roofing began in Oct. of 2011, exactly 10 years ago.

In the last decade, there’s a business principle I’ve observed that has stood out among all others.

A facility manager with roofing problems has many options to consider in the marketplace…but typically, once they have invested in a particular solution for one of their buildings, they will fight hard to defend and even promote their choice to others, even if it’s failing, because they have linked their pride and reputation to it. This often causes them to ignore the failures (typically ongoing leaks) and then make the same roofing decision again, for their other buildings, when the time comes.

So folks should choose wisely…and consider who is selling the solutions, and then leave their pride at the door. These are deceptive times.
