In my opinion the only way to shut this nonsense down is simply for biological women/girl to refuse to compete against biological men/boys. This only goes on as long as women allow it to happen.

Thoughts of a Common Man...
There are a couple of general pursuits that I believe tug at the opposing ends of the soul of every person, but especially within men, and especially within me. God gave men larger hands with two undeniable capabilities. One is the ability to open those hands widely in the service and care of others, and the other is the ability to close those hands into hard fists to fight for the protection of the people, things, and ideals they care about. I believe that a fully alive man is called to do both things, in their own fashion, providing balance for themselves their families, and their world.

In large part, due to our politically correct culture, the disparagement of men’s strength in the media, the availability of meaningless (or harmful) distraction, as well as inadequate teaching from the church, men are struggling because they often fall into ether one camp or the other, and do not know how to be BOTH a loving caretaker as well as an unashamed warrior. Without holding both ideals in their heart, I often see men slowly become either the coward who hides behind his service, or the warlord who hides behind his success. Either way, they are both hiding, neither are fully alive, and there is a steep price to pay for the imbalance in either direction.

In my own life, I have always felt the pull of each ideal (caretaker and warrior) about evenly and so I understand the internal tension and confusion that these can create when navigating our lives, and how easily it can be to fall out of balance. Truly, I’m guilty of being the coward at various seasons, and the warlord at others. My calling has something to do with helping men bring these two ideas into balance, in order to live a full life of fruitful bearing.

When I’m in the zone, my thought life teems with creative parables and analogies that come to me seemingly out of thin air, and it feels like a gift. This often happens when I’m teaching, writing or speaking. I feel this gift most often when writing, because it gives me the appropriate time to order my thoughts and words, free of vocal opposition. How about you?
