A Hadīth I’m Grateful for
As of late, I’ve been attempting to keep my progress in Hifdh a secret, as I don’t see the need for anyone besides me to know how far along I am or whether I’ve finished or not. However, those I spend the majority of my time with usually are usually vaguely aware of my progress due to the competition between us. Recently, someone close asked me, “How does it feel to be so close to the end of your Qur’ān journey?”
Caught off guard, I hesitated for a moment, attempting to find an honest answer, before responding, “It never really ends, that’s the best part about it.”
One has to revise continuously and rigorously throughout his life to maintain the Kalām of Allāh سبحانه وتعالى in his heart. What most outsiders consider “the end” is really just the beginning of a new, beautiful turn in the journey.
Keep refreshing your knowledge of the Qur’ān, for I swear by Him in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad that it is more liable to escape than camels which are hobbled. [Muslim]

During the most difficult days of my life, I was coincidentally memorizing Sūrat Yusūf. The Sūrah was revealed to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ as a consolation after some very difficult period of his life and messagehood, and it served as the greatest consolation to me, to an extent that I can’t describe.
After that season passed, Allāh سبحانه وتعالى granted me double the amount of happiness and good news as the hardship I had endured — an unwavering promise. During that time, I was reviewing my memorization and I reached the Āyah,
And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor [i.e., blessings] of Allāh, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful. [Ibrāhīm:34]
An Āyah that has quickly become one of my favorites and echoes in my head upon realization of every blessing. It’s amazing how the Qur’ān has consolation for every difficulty and reminders for every moment of ease. No matter what one is going through, there is always a benefit to be extracted for his situation and pondered upon.
Even more of a blessing and benefit is when one can understand the Qur’ān as he recites it. Those who neglect to learn the language are only missing out on something indescribable. May Allāh سبحانه وتعالى enable us.

Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali رحمه الله تعالى said:
“Whoever is not able to stand at ‘Arafah, then let him come to a standstill at the limits that Allāh has set for him!
Whoever is not able to stay the night at Muzdhalifah, then let him stay in a state of obedience to Allāh, seeking closeness and nearness to Him!
Whoever is not able to slaughter his sacrificial animal at Mina, then let him slaughter his own lusts and desires so that might achieve that higher aim!
And whoever is not able to reach the House because it is far away, then let him direct his heart to the Lord of that House, for He is nearer to him than his own jugular vein!

The sun does not illuminate any day like it does on a day such as today…
The pinnacle of the year and the epitome of the season of good deeds….
The most opportune day for heartfelt duaa…
The optimal time to make duaa starts at Thuhur and lasts until Maghrib, a cherished period by many in the past who saved their yearlong needs eagerly awaiting the chance to seek Allah's blessings and address their needs on this day.
May Allah swiftly release our sisters in the camps, free all our captives, protect our brothers and sisters in Gaza and beyond, and grant victory to the Muwahideen that brings joy to our hearts.

"When you have pious father, a knowledgeable father, he's going to carry his legacy on to the son. You're going to see it and learn it by watching. You're going to inherit it in your blood like your father had it — usually — with exceptions."
— A statement Shaykh Ahmad Jibrīl (حفظه الله تعالى) made about Imām Al-Bukhāri (رحمه الله) decades ago, that is very much a denoscription of his own life as well. نحسبه كذلك والله حسيبه
May Allāh bless our two Shaykhs endlessly.

For most, if they were to make sincere Du’ā to Allāh سبحانه وتعالى to remove the distractions in their life that cause them to neglect His remembrance, they would find soon after that their phones would break (I have personally heard of multiple such cases).
It’s a shame how addicted many brothers and sisters have become to mindless scrolling and staring aimlessly at screens, neglecting their hereafter therewith.
May Allāh forgive us, I know many who have never gone a day without social media (willingly), yet they go many days without reciting Qur’ān.
May Allāh forgive us, I know many who are up to date with every small detail of what’s going on in the world and what’s trending, but they have no idea about anything that’s going on in Da’wah and new classes that are being released and available.
May Allāh forgive us, I know many whose phones are glued to their hands — they don’t go from one room in the house to another without it — yet their hand hasn’t touched their Mus’haf in weeks.
May Allāh forgive us, I know many who go crazy and become agitated when they lose their phone for a few hours, but I’ve never seen them become that irritated and frustrated upon seeing the principles of the Dīn being violated in front of them and often remain unaffected.
May Allāh forgive us, I know many who are so chronically online that they’re an encyclopedia when it comes to any trending topic or news, but their Salāh is replete with mistakes and they’ve never even bothered to research to make sure that they’re praying right.
May Allāh forgive us, how many we see who are locked into their phones and so concentrated that they don’t hear you when you speak to them, but when praying, their ears are everywhere except in what they’re reciting.
May Allāh forgive us, how many we know who find it hard to put down their phones when they’re doing something on it, yet they can recite a single Juz’ without putting their Mus’haf down after every page or so to pick up their phone and scroll or text.
They’re hyper aware of every worldly news, yet they have little to no awareness regarding their Ākhirah and their acts of worship. Their hearts are disturbed upon not checking their notifications for a few hours, yet remain at peace when not having engaged in ‘Ibādah for a lengthy period. In their free time, they pick up the phones to remain busy, yet when reminded of Dhikr and Nawāfil, all of the sudden “there’s no time”. First thing in the mornings, they hastily check their phones to find out what they “missed out on”, but the caravan of the night worshippers left while they slept and they had no concern of missing out on it.
For most of us, our phones are our enemies, they harm our hereafter more than the good they bring to it. So it’s upon you to be aware of the Fitnah that is within in your hands 24/7 and have self control and awareness in regards to it.
May Allāh forgive us all and rectify our hearts.
