Rights of the Wife #1: Protection
This is one of the most important rights of the wife upon the husband that is needed in order for a woman to feel secure and to be able function properly. Allāh says:
"Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allāh has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth." [An Nisā']
The word Qawāmah generally refers to leadership, and one of the most important qualities of a leader is to be able to protect and defend those he is in charge of. Men have been naturally endowed with qualities that enable them to carry out the role of being the leaders over their families. Protection generally includes both physical and emotional protection, as well as other forms.
💠 Ghayrah (Protective Jealousy)
Sa'd bin 'Ubādah said, "If I found a man with my wife, I would kill him with the sharp side of my sword." When the Prophet (ﷺ) heard that he said, "Do you wonder at Sa'd's sense of Ghayrah? Verily, I have more sense of Ghayrah than Sa'd, and Allāh has more sense of Ghayrah than I." [Bukhari]
Ghayrah is a noble and praiseworthy quality that is encouraged and required in Islām from a man towards his womenfolk, especially his wife. He should be protective over her wellbeing, having great concern to defend her from any word, look, or touch that may bring her harm or have evil intentions behind it. The one who does not have Ghayrah over his womenfolk is referred to as a Dayyūth.
Ibn al-Qayyim said, "The dayyūth is the vilest of Allāh’s creation, and Paradise is forbidden for him [because of his lack of ghayrah]. A man should be ‘jealous’ with regards to his wife’s honor and standing. He should defend her whenever she is slandered or spoken ill of behind her back. Actually, this is a right of every Muslim in general but a right of the spouse specifically. He should also be jealous in not allowing other men to look at his wife or speak with her in a manner which is not appropriate."
Ghayrah is not restricted to simply forbidding the wife from committing Zinā with other men, as many falsely believe, but rather a husband must strongly prevent his wife from anything which leads to Zinā, such as free mixing with the opposite gender, displaying herself or uncovering any part of her body before non-mahram men, talking with non-mahrams unnecessarily, etc. Aside from that, a major aspect of having Ghayrah is that the husband is required to defend her by protecting her honor and reputation when it is falsely slandered or doubted.
It should be noted however, that excessive, unnecessary jealousy is not a praiseworthy trait, and is a cause for harming the woman. When jealousy oversteps its boundaries, without any reason, it is referred to as unfounded suspicion. A man should not seek to pry into his wife's actions and try to find things to blame her with in regards to them. This will not only cause her to resent her husband, but will also cause others to doubt her honor and reputation, because if her husband is so distrusting of her, people would assume that he may have valid reason to do so (i.e, that she's untrustworthy). This defeats the very purpose of Ghayrah, which is to protect her honor from suspicion and protect her from harm.
💠 Guarding Her Secrets
Another aspect of protection is that the husband must guard his wife's secrets from others (respecting her privacy). Specifically her secrets in matters that would normally only be known by her husband, an example being in intimate affairs.
Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) reported that Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said:
Indeed, among the people who will have the most grievous position before Allāh on the Day of Resurrection is a man who, after he intimately approaches his wife and she intimately approaches him, he exposes her secrets. [Muslim]

When a husband is not protective over his wife's secrets, it will cause her to be fearful of sharing anything with him and make her distrustful of him. When a woman is unable to trust her husband, she will lose respect for him, and the effects of this on the marriage are obvious.

GROWING YOUR BEARD IS WĀJIB
"...If your job as an engineer (or any "prestigious" job) doesn't allow you to grow your beard then it becomes Wājib upon you to leave your job and go work elsewhere, even if it's a fast food restaraunt..."

Rights of the Wife #2: Financial Support
Financial support being an obligation upon the husband is mentioned in many Āyāt and ahadīth. Allāh says:
"Men are the protectors and maintainers of women because Allāh has made one of them excel over the other, and because they spend out of their possessions (to support them)." [An-Nisā]
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Their rights upon you are that you should provide them with food and clothing in a fitting manner." [Muslim]
The husband is required to provide for his wife based on his financial capability. He is not required to exceed what he is able to, nor is it appropriate for him to provide inadequate support when he has the means and ability to do more. Financially providing for the wife is an act that has immense rewards to it and is considered the best form of charity, as is proven by many ahadīth.
💠 Mahr
The Mahr (bridal dowry) is money that is due to the woman once the marriage contract has been completed or consummated. Allāh says:
"And give the women [upon marriage] their [bridal] gifts graciously." [An-Nisā]
Ibn Katheer رحمه الله said on this Āyah: “The man must definitely pay the dowry to the woman, and he should not resent it.”
💠 Spending
The 'Ulamā have agreed that spending on the wife is an obligation, under the condition that she makes herself available for her husband for physical pleasure, and if she refuses, then he can withhold spending on her. Allāh says:
“but the father of the child shall bear the cost of the mother’s food and clothing on a reasonable basis” [al-Baqarah]
“Let the rich man spend according to his means; and the man whose resources are restricted, let him spend according to what Allāh has given him.” [al-Talāq]
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A man's spending on his family is a deed of charity." [Muslim]
It was narrated from Thawban that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said: “The best Dinar that a man can spend is a Dinar that he spends on his family, a Dinar that he spends on a horse in the cause of Allah, and a Dinar that a man spends on his companions in the cause of Allāh.” [Ibn Majah]
Abu Mas'ud reported Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: When a Muslim spends on his family seeking reward for it from Allāh, it counts for him as Sadaqah. [Bukhari & Muslim]
If a man is deficient in supporting his wife financially while he has the means and capabilities, she is permitted to take from his wealth, without his permission, that which is sufficient for her and her children.
💠 Accommodation
The wife is ennoscriptd to safe accommodation that the husband is required to provide for her, according to his ability and means. Allāh says:
"Lodge them [in a section] of where you dwell out of your means..." [At-Talāq]

The Best Thing in This Life
| By: The Noble Shaykh Musa Abdullah Jibril (حفظه الله)
“The best thing in this life, really, is to have someone who loves you for the sake of Allāh, you have friendship with such a person. Whether it be with a friend, a spouse, your child, anyone who loves for the sake of Allāh and strives towards righteousness. That’s why this topic is so beautiful and vast, volumes could be written on the topic of Al-Mahabbah.
...
That’s why from the best things one can have in this life is to have a friend who loves him for the sake of Allāh. Indeed, all other friendships will be expelled on the Day of Judgement. Friends on that Day will be foes to one another except Al-Muttaqūn - the pious. Those who loved for Allāh’s sake, that is the only love that will remain.
When there’s love for Allāh’s sake, there is true friendship - intimate friends who hasten and race each other to Allāh. When one falls down, the other picks him up. You find comfort and solace from each other in a world that breaks you continuously, a source of relief for each other. You see each other and your difficulties are eased, and you both hasten to goodness. That’s companionship.
Allāh honours this friendship that’s for His sake. That’s why they are amongst those who are shaded on a day when there’s no shade but His shade.”
[Excerpt from his book, “Does Allāh Love Me?”]
May Allah grant the Shaykh a speedy recovery, forgive him for all his sins and raise his rank. May Allāh grant him a long, healthy, blessed life full of good deeds, Āmīn.

This entire book can be put into a diagram – but more essential is that you draw a diagram for what you’ve learned in that specific class, either before class or after class, that helps follow the Matn’s outline, and it helps one focus better, and it helps one concentrate better as well.”

#Advice | Shaykh Ahmad Mūsā Jibrīl (حفظه الله) was once asked: “Why does my Īmān keep getting low and weakens?”
The Shaykh beautifully replied saying:
“You’re not the only one, my Īmān weakens, everybody’s Īmān weakens. And that’s why the hasanāt, the farā’id strengthens your Īmān. And likewise the sins weaken the Īmān and not only that, being neutral weakens the Īmān. Always have your tongue fresh with the Thikr of Allāh with the Qur’ān. If you have time, do Thikr, if you’re in your car, put Qur’ān, if you’re home, have certain hours where you study the ‘ilm, if it is at night time, do Qiyām. That’s how a Muslim should be, don’t let a second of your life go to waste. Not only does this occupy ones time in doing good deeds, but will keep them away from the harām and strengthen his Īmān.”

Not even looking, how about greeting and even celebrating those shirk holidays?
The Prophet Muhammad [صلى الله عليه وسلم] ran a pattern of trying to be different from the kuffār and we see those ignorant heads with spoiled followers who attempt to run a contradicting pattern of imitating and enjoining them!
Umar Ibn al-Khattāb [رضي الله عنه] banned them from “looking” at the festivals of the infidels. What would he have done if he saw Muslims decorating their homes for Christmas, eating Turkey on Thanksgiving Day, putting out pumpkins for Halloween, exchanging gifts and greetings on Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and so on?
