The Best Thing in This Life
| By: The Noble Shaykh Musa Abdullah Jibril (حفظه الله)
“The best thing in this life, really, is to have someone who loves you for the sake of Allāh, you have friendship with such a person. Whether it be with a friend, a spouse, your child, anyone who loves for the sake of Allāh and strives towards righteousness. That’s why this topic is so beautiful and vast, volumes could be written on the topic of Al-Mahabbah.
...
That’s why from the best things one can have in this life is to have a friend who loves him for the sake of Allāh. Indeed, all other friendships will be expelled on the Day of Judgement. Friends on that Day will be foes to one another except Al-Muttaqūn - the pious. Those who loved for Allāh’s sake, that is the only love that will remain.
(الْأَخِلَّاءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ إِلَّا الْمُتَّقِينَ)
When there’s love for Allāh’s sake, there is true friendship - intimate friends who hasten and race each other to Allāh. When one falls down, the other picks him up. You find comfort and solace from each other in a world that breaks you continuously, a source of relief for each other. You see each other and your difficulties are eased, and you both hasten to goodness. That’s companionship.
Allāh honours this friendship that’s for His sake. That’s why they are amongst those who are shaded on a day when there’s no shade but His shade.”
[Excerpt from his book, “Does Allāh Love Me?”]
May Allah grant the Shaykh a speedy recovery, forgive him for all his sins and raise his rank. May Allāh grant him a long, healthy, blessed life full of good deeds, Āmīn.

One of the students of both Shaykh Ahmad and Shaykh Musa Jibril (حفظهما الله) said about this: I second that. Allahuma Barik Lahu. I seen him back when hardships were falling on him like volcanos in 2001 and he was the happiest."
May Allah protect our beloved Shaykh Musa always and grant him a long life full of good deeds.

“I used to draw a sketch or a diagram, with boxes, and arrows, and circles, and more arrows, because the book branches off. This entire book can be put into a diagram – but more essential is that you draw a diagram for what you’ve learned in that specific class, either before class or after class, that helps follow the Matn’s outline, and it helps one focus better, and it helps one concentrate better as well.”
Outline made by Umm Subhieh, using the exact guideline of the Shaykh, may Allah protect him and preserve him.

#Advice | Shaykh Ahmad Mūsā Jibrīl (حفظه الله) was once asked: “Why does my Īmān keep getting low and weakens?”
The Shaykh beautifully replied saying:
“You’re not the only one, my Īmān weakens, everybody’s Īmān weakens. And that’s why the hasanāt, the farā’id strengthens your Īmān. And likewise the sins weaken the Īmān and not only that, being neutral weakens the Īmān. Always have your tongue fresh with the Thikr of Allāh with the Qur’ān. If you have time, do Thikr, if you’re in your car, put Qur’ān, if you’re home, have certain hours where you study the ‘ilm, if it is at night time, do Qiyām. That’s how a Muslim should be, don’t let a second of your life go to waste. Not only does this occupy ones time in doing good deeds, but will keep them away from the harām and strengthen his Īmān.”

Not even looking, how about greeting and even celebrating those shirk holidays?
The Prophet Muhammad [صلى الله عليه وسلم] ran a pattern of trying to be different from the kuffār and we see those ignorant heads with spoiled followers who attempt to run a contradicting pattern of imitating and enjoining them!
Umar Ibn al-Khattāb [رضي الله عنه] banned them from “looking” at the festivals of the infidels. What would he have done if he saw Muslims decorating their homes for Christmas, eating Turkey on Thanksgiving Day, putting out pumpkins for Halloween, exchanging gifts and greetings on Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and so on?

We don't know what our beloved 'Ulama' of Haqq go through on a daily basis due to the heavy burden of this religion that they carry on their shoulders. Let us be grateful to Allah for what He blessed us with of lions of this religion, who are constantly at the forefront to protect the religion from manipulation, taking the brunt for it in silence and contentment with Allah's decree. The least we can do, if we truly love them for Allah's sake, is sincere supplication and spreading their life works for the sake of Allah.
They mention snippets regarding their trials in passing (when there's a benefit), as if they are nothing, while our minds are left baffled at what they just spoke of. They sacrifice their time and safety for the benefit of the Ummah, making themselves available to serve this Deen constantly, while the majority of us cannot even remember them in our Du'aas.
May Allah forgive them and forgive us, protect them, and raise their ranks, and unite us all under His 'Arsh and in Firdaws after that.

Memorize and Recite Surat Al-Baqarah and Taste Its Flavors!
Each Surah has its unique qualities and beautiful verses which evoke different emotions in the heart of the believer, but by Allah, Surat Al-Baqarah is special! Memorize Surat Al-Baqarah and taste its flavors, how different they are! How could it not grab at your heart and make it swell, with its beautiful Ayaat, strong commandments and prohibitions, various themes, and numerously narrated virtues?
Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Do not make your houses into graves, for the Shaytan flees from a house in which Surat al-Baqarah is recited.” [Muslim]
Abu Umamah said he heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) say: Recite the Qur'an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite It. Recite the two bright ones, al-Baqarah and Surat Aal 'Imran, for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them. Read Surat al-Baqarah, for reciting it regularly is a blessing and forsaking it is a cause of regret, and the magicians cannot withstand it.” [Muslim]
Narrated Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If one recites the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah at night, it is sufficient for him (for that night)." [Bukhari]
An-Nawwas bin Sam'an reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, "The Qur'an and its people who applied it, will be brought on the Day of Resurrection preceded with Surat Al-Baqarah and Surat Al-'Imran arguing on behalf of their companions." [Muslim]
Ibn 'Abbas reported: While Jibreel was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he heard a sound above him. He lifted his head, and said: "This is a gate which has been opened in heaven today. It was never opened before." Then an angel descended through it, he said: "This is an angel who has come down to earth. He never came down before." He sent greetings and said: "Rejoice with two lights given to you. Such lights were not given to any Prophet before you. These (lights) are: Fatihah-til-Kitab (Surat Al-Fatihah), and the concluding Ayat of Surat Al-Baqarah. You will never recite a word from them without being given the blessings it contain." [Muslim].
Narrated Usayd bin Hudayr: That while he was reciting Surat Al-Baqarah at night, and his horse was tied beside him, the horse was suddenly startled and troubled. When he stopped reciting, the horse became quiet, and when he started again, the horse was startled again. Then he stopped reciting and the horse became quiet too. He started reciting again and the horse was startled and troubled once again. Then he stopped reciting and his son, Yahya was beside the horse. He was afraid that the horse might trample on him. When he took the boy away and looked towards the sky, he could not see it. The next morning he informed the Prophet who said, "Recite, O Ibn Hudayr! Recite, O Ibn Hudayr!" Ibn Hudayr replied, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! My son, Yahya was near the horse and I was afraid that it might trample on him, so I looked towards the sky, and went to him. When I looked at the sky, I saw something like a cloud containing what looked like lamps, so I went out in order not to see it." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Do you know what that was?" Ibn Hudayr replied, "No." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Those were Angels who came near to you for your voice and if you had kept on reciting till dawn, it would have remained there till morning when people would have seen it as it would not have disappeared.
Khalid bin Ma'dan used to call Al-Baqarah the Fustat (tent) of the Qur'an. Some of the scholars said that it contains a thousand news incidents, a thousand commands and a thousand prohibitions.
All these virtues are besides the specific virtues of the greatest verse of the Qur'an (Ayat Al Kursi), which also comes in Surat Al-Baqarah!
May Allah make us companions of the Qur'an and amongst those people who it will intercede for on Yawm Al Qiyaamah.
