-- After few bakeries increased the prices paid by distributers of bread, dangering the distribution chain of bread due to their greed, warnings from the Ghobeiry municipality were issued against them.
To sum this situation up:

The government supports the price of imported wheat up to 80% and sells it to the bakeries to keep the price of 1kg of bread at 1,500 lira. (1$ at official rate)

However bakeries, all bakeries, are using this wheat to make sweets and other luxuries and selling them at their own set prices. This process led to the lack of wheat for bread and decrease of profits for them for a bag of bread.

What they want is to increase the price of the bread, yet keep using the 80% price supported wheat for their other businesses or else they will go on strike.

The head of the syndicate is a bakery owner, thus we can clearly see the conflict of interest here.
🇱🇧 Lebanon recorded today only 4 new cases. 340 tests were done yesterday due to the low request of tests that driven the ministry to ask people to come get tested even if they have normal flu or any chest / breathing related problems. @nauala

-- It's true that Lebanon is in a huge financial problem and people are suffering, but the recent protests are not at all pure.

From today's protests in Tripoli cursing the current PM that has been in his position for less than 100 days and demanding Saad Al Hariri to come back. These protests are simply by Hariri's supporters.
