USA Senate Foreign Relations Committee member:

"Lebanon’s receipt of U.S.-sanctioned Iranian fuel, trucked-in by Hezbollah through Syria, is a disappointing sign for the future of Lebanon’s accountability and democracy. U.S. sanctions must mean something."
📈 The subsidy on fuel has been unofficially lifted. The central bank set a new exchange rate to buy fuel at 12,000 ⁠LL, close to the central bank "sayrafa" exchange rate of 12,800 ⁠LL and the current black market exchange rate of 14,500 ⁠LL.

As one increases, the other will follow.

Yesterday night, diesel fuel trucks arrived in Dahyeh, similarly to North & south Lebanon, and Beqaa to start distribution to all institutions that fall in the two categories set by Hezbullah's S-G.

The station administration called on security forces to help assist them in organizing the queue and open paths for travellers on the road.

⋯ This situation forced many travellers to go to the airport on foot.
Minister of finance Youssef El-Khalil was informed by Banque du Liban that Lebanon’s dues in the International Monetary Fund (SDRs) have been transferred to the Ministry of Finance’s account. A total of: $1,139,951,437.098 (1.1 billion)

Beirut: Massive queue of cars on the airport road in front of the "Orphans" petrol station. The station administration called on security forces to help assist them in organizing the queue and open paths for travellers on the road.
Al Aytam "Orphans" Petrol station was the only ethical gas station in Beirut to open its doors at 8 am and sell gasoline at the old rate of 8,000 LBP not waiting till noon when the cartel will announce the increasing of prices and selling at a rate of 12,000 LBP.
Akkar: Hezbullah continues its financial aid support to the families of the victims of the Tleil explosion, giving the Syrian families of those killed or injured 30 and 15 million ⁠LBP respectively (about $2,000 and $1,000).

The money was distributed by Sunni Sheikh Maher Abul-Razik.

On 15 August, an explosion happened at dawn while army soldiers & locals were removing illegally-hoarded fuel from a tanker associated with Future Movement politicians.
📈 The increase in the price of 20L gasoline to 180,000 pounds, is an increase of 559% since the beginning of 2021.

Price of diesel increased by 847%.

USA Treasury announced new sanctions against Hezbullah and affiliated members.

⋯ The US Treasury imposed sanctions on 2 Lebanese, 7 Iranians, 2 Chinese and 2 Kuwaitis, for their alleged connection to the financing of Hezbollah.

Per the "SDN" list, some are accused of links to Ali Qasir, a manager of Syria-based Talaqi Group and Lebanon-based Hokoul S.A.L. shipping oil and steel; Jamal Hussein Al-Shatti is accused of raising millions of dollars; Meghdad Amini was sanctioned in 2018 for currency exchange activities in UAE.

Note: USA's new modus operandi is sanctioning Shia or Lebanese businessmen.

The Zionist occupation forces (IDF) brutally assaulted an activist during a peaceful demonstration against settlements in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.

Beqaa: The Lebanese army arrested 6 individuals, including 2 Syrians, in a raid in Brital, and seized 3 stolen cars, 2 motorcycles, and a variety of weapons from a car theft mafia.
Beirut: The Governor of Beirut asked the owners of petrol stations to call "175" before opening their stations, in order to secure support from the Guards Regiment and the Internal Security Forces. They will help organize the queues.
