⋯ Recruitment is done by sheikhs at mosques.

Back in 2011-2013, sheikhs used to stop young men after prayers and talk to them about heaven and jihad and how Syrians need help to fight against an evil ruler. Many got persuaded and dragged into the war.

Little is spoken about the anti-Assad Lebanese militants that were recruited to fight against the Syrian army.

Recruitment slowed down in 2014-2016.
⋯ I remember when I was at Imam Ali mosque in Tariq Al-Jadideh in 2012 on a Friday.

I still remember how as the only Shia there it was very awkward when the imam, during his speech, stated: “May God curse the Rawafid (Shia), may God curse Hezbullah, may God curse Bashar.”

Lebanese Army Chief of Staff met with the USA and Canadian ambassadors to discuss Lebanon's border security, with the sole emphasis on the eastern border with Syria with regard to the smuggling and 'terrorists', but neglecting to mention the border area with Israel.

⋯ This is becoming pathetic and embarrassing.

Not only are foreign ambassadors almost permanent members of our MoD and army, the Lebanese army is shifting all its focus, that's not police work, to the border with Syria, smuggling.
⋯ The main dilemma is that there are NO more ISIS and Al-Qaeda cells on the Lebanese-Syrian borders.

The army's whole drills and preparations, through Western funding, is focusing on non-existing threats while not preparing the army's infrastructure in south Lebanon against Israel.

Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns the Yemeni attack on Saudi Arabia.

The ministry didn't condemn the Saudi attacks on Yemen, that has been ongoing for two full weeks with hundreds of precision airstrikes, because Yemenese are kuffar, not Arab, and probably our enemy. twitter.com/Mofalebanon/s…

There are a couple thousand others that are not registered. None pay taxes despite the large income and flow of money.
