Simply because the US will be the least affected by any economic burden and war, while EU and the rest of the world will be devastated by it all

⋯ Both Raja and the central bank governor are under investigation, in both Lebanon and Europe, for shady money deals, money laundering, and illegally accumulating billions of USD in wealth.

The investigation involves the majority of Lebanon's main banks.

⋯ PM Mikati and other pro bankers are attempting to secure a fast closure of this investigation to save their wealth, positions, and avoid jail. But most importantly, they are fearing Europe might forfeit and confiscate their assets if they get incriminated in the investigations.

⋯ The current increase in the USD exchange rate is political, as banks & the governor are attempting to pressure the judiciary to halt the investigations.

What further complicated the situation is that the judiciary closed all 50 branches of FransaBank and froze its assets
