The candidate for the Shiite seat in the Baalbek-Hermel district, on the Lebanese Forces party list, Abbas Al-Jawhari, is offering large sums of money to families in exchange for handing him their identifications till the end of the election day.
A low turnout would allow the LF and opposition not only to win the Christian and Sunni seats, but possibly a Shiite seat representing the province.
