Intense clashes ongoing between outlaws in Laylaki area in Beirut's Southern Suburbs.

The Israeli security-political cabinet was informed that it'll be briefed soon on the situation against Hezbullah and the possibility of escalation on the Northern front.

⋯ This coincides with the increase of threatening behaviour by Israel against Hezbullah.

IDF Chief of Staff Halevi said: "Hezbullah is very deterred from an all-out war against Israel. It thinks it understands how we think. This thought brings it to dare and challenge us where it is sure it will not lead to war.

"I see this as a good way to create surprises if necessary."

⋯ "We have good preparedness in the northern arena. A campaign in the northern arena will be difficult on the home front. We will know how to deal with it, but it will be difficult. It will be seven times harder for Lebanon, and even more so for Hezbollah." Halevi concluded

⋯ In response, the deputy Secretary General of Hezbullah, Sheikh Naim Qassem said:

"The Israeli enemy must reckon against any folly it will commit, because the response will be unprecedented."

The United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that Ali Hassan Saab, 46 y/o, was sentenced today to 12 years in prison for receiving military-type training from Hezbullah, and making false statements.

Judge Imad Kabalan seized the passports of Lebanese Governor of the Banque du Liban, Riad Salameh, and put him under investigation.

Salameh begged the judiciary not to extradite him to France and put him on trial in Lebanon.

Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Ziyad al-Nakhala:

"If the latest battle had extended for longer, Hamas and all the factions including Hezbollah would have been part of it."

The UAE authorities released Lebanese detainee Hussein Ezzeddine.

Remaining inside the prison from the last batch:
- Ibrahim Metrick
- Mustafa Ezzedine

They were all kidnapped by the security services. All are innocent. One died under torture.

The recent developments are quite astonishing after the 2011 sedition:

Security forces arrested a Syrian gang that sold fake work permits and residency to Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

The head of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, announced his resignation from the leadership of the party, and calls for an electoral general conference on 25 June.
