The 2nd Artillery Regiment of the Lebanese army fired at naval targets with 130 mm rockets and artillery launchers in the Hanoush shooting range - Hamat.

At directions of the French presidency, the head of the Lebanese Maronite patriarchy Bechara al-Rai delegated church men to all Lebanese political parties to find a resolution to the presidential deadlock.

⋯ Upon his return from Paris, Patriarch Al-Rahi received Suleiman Franjieh and Gebran Bassil separately, but he was unable to meet Samir Geagea for security reasons (hiding in his fortress).

⛰ The earthquake felt in Lebanon a few days ago was caused by an explosion inside a mountain, used to harvest rocks. The explosion took place deep inside, and above a fault line on a tectonic plate triggering an earthquake 15 ⁠km deep in Zahleh.

MP Michel Moawad announced, during a press conference this evening, that he has withdrawn his candidacy for the presidency, saying: 

"I decided to contribute to the nomination of Jihad Azour, and we shall relentlessly continue our battle."

Sayyed Ibrahim Amin Al-Sayed:

"There is a person in Lebanon, neither Sunni nor Shiite, whose name I will not say, who does in Lebanon what the Jews did with the Aws and Khazraj.

He works with a Jewish mind. This person wanted to build his glory through a Sunni-Shia conflict."

🔴 2 year old Palestinian baby, Mohammed Tamimi, is now pronounced killed after being shot by Israeli occupation forces 2 days ago near the town of Nabi Saleh, West Ramallah.

The Israeli military first accused Palestinians, but hours later backtracked and admitted that they killed him.

🔴 Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri calls for a session on 14 June at 11:00 am to elect a president.

Main candidates:

- Jihad Azour, supported by a Christian majority and the opposition.

- Sulaiman Franjieh, supported by a coalition of a Shia majority, Sunni, and others.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant:

"If a war breaks out, the Israeli home front is expected to face challenges never witnessed in our 75 years of existence."
