It is painful news indeed but if we learned anything from the history of Hamas, it is that they faced much more painful hardships throughout the years and the loss of many leaders, especially in the early 2000's.

The situation was so critical, that it was rumoured that the oldest leader in the leadership in some areas was barely 18 y/o, as all his predecessors were martyred.

Marwan and the leadership survived back in 2006 and got injured, but were saved eventually when Hezbullah attacked Israel in July and directed the heat towards Lebanon.
