Details of the Lebanese Army's plans on the war on weapons in Lebanon: Part #1
At the last session of the Council of Ministers, the army commander put on the table a report that was described in the corridors of the palace by ministerial sources as "the first of its kind", as it was not an ordinary technical report listing the numbers of the missions and reviewing the procedures, but a document confirming the beginning of the implementation of the arms limitation plan on the entire Lebanese territory.
According to the ministerial sources, the army commander, and apart from the details he presented, which were agreed to remain confidential, announced that the institution has entered the stage of the actual implementation of its duty to extend the state's authority "without exception", without hiding the difficulty of the task or the sensitivity of the timing
The sources reveal that what was stated in the report was not just a denoscription of the security situation, but rather a prelude to an integrated field plan that has been being implemented silently for weeks, noting that the report touched on three basic files: the Southern Litani weapon, which is the issue related to Hezbullah's weapon, the eastern border and its file related to drugs, their manufacture and smuggling, and the Palestinian camps in terms of the weapons found there

The first is the deployment of the army over the entire area in which it can deploy except for that occupied by the Israeli enemy, and the second is the full cooperation between the army and Hezbullah.
Revealing that during the past months the army carried out more than 3500 field missions in the area south of the Litani, distributed between reconnaissance patrols, checkpoints, and establishing new positions along the line extending from the Litani to the borders of the occupied territories, and confiscation of weapons.
He emphasized that the army leadership appreciates the need for a deadline extending until the end of the year in order to complete its mission in the south of the Litani, with an emphasis on the necessity of the withdrawal of the occupying forces from the occupied territories.

The case began after the arrest of a Syrian with Ukrainian citizenship and married to a Ukrainian woman, who was caught in possession of an explosive device in the shape of a battery that he intended to hide in a motorcycle, then the investigations led to the discovery of a car prepared for bombing, which had undergone special preparations to load it with explosives, before being hidden in the Batrun neighborhood in preparation for its use in the attack.
