On 13 May 2025, AFRIMA, in collaboration with the African Union and AFRONOVA, held a formal press event at the AU headquarters to announce the 2025 host city and calendar for the All Africa Music Awards.
Lagos, Nigeria, was unveiled as the host city for the awards, with artist submissions opening from May 27 to August 8. This year’s theme, “Unstoppable Africa,” was also revealed.
