On 16 - 18 May 2025, Ethiopia kicked off ETEX EXPO 2025, the largest tech event in East Africa, at the newly launched convention centre in Addis Ababa.
The three-day expo, co-organized by the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute and the Information Network Security Administration, brought together government leaders, international delegates, and industry stakeholders to spotlight Ethiopia’s growing digital ecosystem.
The event opened with remarks from INSA Director General Tigist Mohammed and FDRE President Taye Atske-Selassie, followed by panels on cybersecurity, showcases of innovative startups, and a record-breaking drone show.

Recognized by Movie Maker as one of the Coolest Film Festivals in the World in 2024, the event will take place across several venues, including Alliance Ethio-Française, Hager Fikir Theater, the Italian Cultural Institute, and the Goethe-Institut.
With a focus on films that highlight human rights and social issues, the festival offers free entrance and aims to provide a platform for impactful storytelling and diverse cinematic voices.
