In response to growing public interest, Rotary Ethiopia is organizing a follow-up session featuring Rtn. Seble Hailu (Ph.D) to continue the conversation on “Addressing Trauma in Women and Girls Affected by War.”

Taking place on 25 July 2025, at 6:30 PM at the Prana Events Office (Lucky Building, 5th Floor, Bole), the event builds on the momentum of the impactful June 2024 gathering.

Dr. Seble, a recognized expert in trauma recovery and Rotary leadership, will delve deeper into the long-term psychological effects of conflict and share lessons from community-based initiatives supported by Rotary. The session is open to all, with no admission fee.

The Italian Cultural Institute in Addis Ababa, alongside Italian and Ethiopian partners, is hosting a cultural program to celebrate the opening of Creative Hub Ethiopia’s new headquarters at the historic Post Office, renovated with support from the Italian Government.

Creative Hub Ethiopia aims to foster young creatives, artists, and designers through idea development and startup incubation. The event features the group "Accordi Disaccordi" with their concert "Gypsy Jazz Dreams," blending manouche jazz, Mediterranean melodies, rock, and electronic sounds.

Karaoke Friday returns for its second edition, offering an engaging evening of music, dining, and entertainment. Guests can enjoy indoor dinner options, a wide selection of drinks, and an extensive lineup of songs from around the world.

As the rainy season returns this August, a local art gallery is shifting focus to offer a more intimate and reflective experience centered around poetry and grief.

Titled One Too Many Times, the exhibition features five poets exploring the complex emotions of loss—denial, anger, acceptance—not in a linear progression, but as fragmented moments that invite collective understanding.

Opening on 1 August 2025, the program will also include weekly open mic nights every Friday throughout the month, encouraging participants to share poetry of their own or others’, fostering a space for community and expression beyond visual art.

Qibibilosh will screen FAYA DAYI, documentary by Jessica Beshir—an acclaimed filmmaker from Harar now based in New York on 3 August 2025, at 2:30 PM at The VenueWarehouse.

The film, shortlisted for the 94th Academy Awards and honored at Sundance, reflects on Ethiopian cultural themes. Qibibilosh is a bimonthly platform that fosters intergenerational and pan-African knowledge exchange through film and dialogue.
