Russia to Begin Trial of AI-Designed Cancer Vaccine
For years, HIV, AIDS, and cancer have roamed around striking fear amongst people as there was no possible medical remedy for these diseases. Recently, we have seen that there was a medical breakthrough in the fight against HIV/AIDS. And now, in a major medical milestone, The Economic Times reports that Russia’s Gamaleya National Research Centre, the same institute behind the Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine, is set to commence human trials of a personalized mRNA-based melanoma vaccine by September to October 2025 in collaboration with leading Russian oncology institutions.
While the efforts are admirable, two main questions need to be asked: is the vaccine financially inclusive? And will it be controversial like Sputnik V (the Covid-19 vaccine)?

Ethiopian food is becoming increasingly trendy around the world.
While this growing popularity is a positive development, our cuisine now stands at a crossroads, one path leading to gentrification, where its cultural roots risk being diluted, and the other toward equitable profitability that benefits the communities it comes from. Which path will it take?

Three young Ethiopian architects — Daniel Waju, Binyam Bekehetu, and Fraser Abraha — have earned global recognition after winning silver in an international Archstorming competition for their design of a mobile emergency school in the West Bank.
Trained under Gomtu Nedafi Alebel in Addis Ababa, the trio refined their vision through years of trial, error, and quiet persistence. Their foldable, metal-free design responds to the realities of life under occupation — blending practicality with deep cultural awareness.
Their story is one of resilience, innovation, and the rising influence of African architects on the world stage.
