Mehr als zwei Monate später schließt sich jetzt auch der SPIEGEL in einem Artikel hinter der Bezahlschranke diesem Urteil an.

Um zu verstehen, warum die Großhandelspreise für Erdgas vor allem im August jenseits von Gut und Böse waren, muss man verstehen, wie es der Bundesregierung gelungen ist, die nationalen Gasspeicher in einem Rekordtempo zu füllen.

Im Frühjahr, als sich die Großhandelspreise nach der russischen Invasion in der Ukraine verdoppelt hatten, war die Bereitschaft privatwirtschaftlicher Unternehmen, Gas zu diesen Preisen für den nächsten Winter einzulagern, freundlich ausgedrückt zurückhaltend. Das brachte die zuständige Bundesnetzagentur und das Bundeswirtschaftsministerium auf den Plan. Am 3. Juni wurde der technische Dienstleister Trading Hub Europe (THE) damit beauftragt, die Füllung der nationalen Gasspeicher zu koordinieren.
Am 23. Juni rief Bundeswirtschaftsminister Robert Habeck dann die Alarmstufe des Notfallplans Gas aus, mit der er THE legitimierte, über ein Kreditfenster der staatlichen Förderbank KfW selbst Gas an den Energiebörsen zu kaufen und es in den Speichern einzulagern.
Diese Maßnahme war per se nicht falsch.
Nachdem Gazprom die Gaslieferungen über die Nord-Stream-1-Pipeline unter fragwürdigen Erklärungen am 13. Juni auf 40 Prozent des maximalen Volumens gedrosselt hatte, waren die Preise noch einmal gestiegen und mittlerweile meldeten die großen privatwirtschaftlichen Gasimporteure wie Uniper, dass ihnen das nötige Geld für weitere Einkäufe ausgegangen sei. Hochproblematisch war jedoch die Vorgehensweise des staatlichen Einkaufsprogramms, das nun von THE umgesetzt wurde. Die NachDenkSeiten kommentierten dies damals folgendermaßen:

Die Firma Trading Hub Europe (THE) […] hat nun die hoheitliche Aufgabe, den Markt sprichwörtlich leerzukaufen und die nationalen Gasspeicher mit der technisch maximalen Menge pro Tag zu füllen. […] Auf den Preis soll THE dabei nicht achten, sondern blindlinks zu jedem aufgerufenen Preis einkaufen. […] Deutschland kauft also derzeit ohne Sinn und Verstand den Markt leer.

Gas price explosion –

To understand why wholesale natural gas prices were beyond good and bad, especially in August, one has to understand how the #German Federal government has managed to fill national gas storage facilities at a record pace.

In the spring, when wholesale prices had doubled after the #Russian invasion of Ukraine, the willingness of private companies to stockpile gas at these prices for next winter was, to put it kindly, reluctant.

This brought the responsible German #FederalNetworkAgency and the Federal Ministry of Economics onto the scene.


On June 3rd, the technical service provider #TradingHubEurope (#THE) was commissioned to coordinate the filling of the national #gas storage facilities.

On June 23, Federal Economics Minister Robert #Habeck then declared the gas emergency plan to be on alert, with which he legitimized #THE to buy gas itself on the energy exchanges via a credit window from the state development bank #KfW and to store it in the storage facilities.

This measure was not wrong per se.

After #Gazprom had cut gas supplies via the #NordStream1 pipeline to 40 percent of the maximum volume under questionable explanations on June 13, prices rose again and meanwhile the large private gas importers such as #Uniper reported that they had the necessary money went out for further purchases.

However, the procedure of the state purchasing program, which has now been implemented by #THE, was highly problematic.

The NachDenkseiten commented on this at the time as follows:

"The company #TradingHubEurope (#THE) […] now has the sovereign task of literally buying the market dry and filling the national gas storage facilities with the technically maximum amount per day. […]

#THE should not pay attention to the price, but buy blindly at every price called. […] "

So Germany is currently buying the market empty without any sense or reason.

The average response level is in 8 regions bordering Ukraine.

A high—alert mode is being introduced in the territories of the regions of the Central and Southern Federal Districts - with the exception of 8 regions where the average response level will operate.

Basic readiness level - will operate throughout the territory of the Russian Federation, not affected by other special modes.

American marines of the 76th Brigade train in suppressing social unrest. They will be deployed to Kosovo for 9 months.

US REHEARSES DROPPING NUCLEAR BOMBS IN EUROPE

On Monday, the NATO military alliance will hold a training exercise, known as Steadfast Noon, in which US B-52 bombers and F-16 fighters will simulate dropping atomic bombs over Europe amid a deepening nuclear standoff with Russia.

The training exercise comes just ten days after US President Joe Biden warned of a nuclear “apocalypse,” saying the risk of nuclear war is the greatest since the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.

“This is the exercise that practices NATO’s nuclear strike mission with dual-capable aircraft and the B61 tactical nuclear bombs the US deploys in Europe,” wrote Hans Kristensen of the Federation of American Scientists.

The aircraft will rehearse dropping B61 “tactical” thermonuclear bombs, each of which is up to 20 times more powerful than the weapon that destroyed Hiroshima in World War II, killing as many as 126,000 civilians.

SPD AND GREENS SEEK TO GAG ROGER WATERS AND SILENCE CRITICISM OF NATO’S WAR IN UKRAINE

Members of the #Munich city council, a coalition of the #SPD and the #GreenParty, are seeking to prevent #PinkFloyd co-founder #RogerWaters from performing his This Is Not a Drill show at the city-owned Olympiahalle on May 21, 2023.

Munich Mayor Dieter #Reiter (SPD) declared he was very irritated to learn that the city-owned Olympia Park company had awarded its rooms to Waters, and that he had had no knowledge of the move.

Reiter called on the company to review and reverse its decision. The city’s deputy mayors, Verena #Dietl (SPD) and Katrin #Habenschaden (Greens), expressed similar views.

Cancelling the hall, which has over 15k seats, would be tantamount to banning Waters from performing in Munich, under conditions where no comparable facility is available.

This blatant attempt at censorship is justified solely on the grounds of Waters’ political stance, which runs counter to the interests of the ruling elite in Germany.

"Almost every one of his songs deals with the pressing issues of our time: imperialist war, fascism, the poison of nationalism, the plight of refugees, the victims of state oppression, global poverty, social inequality, the assault on democratic rights and the threat of nuclear annihilation."

Normally, in the recent past, these are issues and opinions both SPD and the Greens would have little issue with.

However the German SPD/Green coalition is no embarking on largescale support efforts for #NATO proxy war in Ukraine.

The SPD and the Greens are absolutely determined to prevent any discussion of these issues and will stop at nothing to discredit Waters.

As well as governing in the city of Munich, both parties are also partners in the federal government.

They are denouncing him as an anti-Semite and #Putin supporter, although such accusations are demonstrably false.

The conservative Christian Social Union (#CSU), which governs the state in Bavaria, and the corporate media also support the campaign against Waters.

In 2018, the city of #Munich had already tried to prevent a concert by Waters in the #Olympiahalle, but lost its case in court.

It had relied on a city council resolution from the previous year, according to which the city denied access to its facilities to organisations and individuals who support the #BDS movement, which campaigns for the rights of #Palestinians, as Waters does.

At that time, Mayor Reiter had already declared that no more concerts by Waters would be allowed in the Olympiahalle in future.

In Jan 2022, however, the Federal Administrative Court in #Leipzig ruled in another case that the #BDS resolution passed by the Munich city council in 2017 was unconstitutional and violated the fundamental right to freedom of expression.

Access to public spaces could be restricted for certain purposes, but not on the basis of unpopular opinions.

After this ruling, the Olympiahalle company awarded the hall to Waters, having previously delayed any decision.

The company had to accept because “legally there was no longer any reason not to offer the date,” explained managing director Nils Hoch

And Now… Moderna CEO Admits COVID Is Like Seasonal Flu, Only Vulnerable Need Jabs

In a rare moment, #Moderna CEO Stéphane #Bancel admitted that #COVID is akin to a seasonal flu and that only older people and those who have compromised immune systems need to get vaccinated.

Speaking at a finance conference Monday, Bancel noted:

“I think it’s going to be like the flu. If you’re a 25-year-old, do you need an annual booster every year if you’re healthy?”

“… but I think it’s going to be similar to flu where it’s going to be people at high-risk, people above 50 years of age, people with comorbidities, people with cancer and other conditions, people with transplants”

So this begs the question, why is the CDC pushing Moderna and Pfizer boosters for 5 year old kids?

It’s quite a turnaround for Bancel, who just 1 year ago declared that even younger people will have to get vaccine booster shots at least once every three years for ever if normality is ever to return
