Need help with upping the GPU wattage MSI Katana GF-66 (3060, I7 11800h)
Recently ordered the MSI Katana GF-66, but I've heard it's GPU wattage is sub-optimal (65-85w.) Is there anyway of upping the GPU wattage to atleast 100w?

Hello I bought this laptop recently and wondering if it supports a dock. It doesn’t have to be the Msi brand but support two monitors. I usually will have my laptop closed.

MSI Thin 15 B12UC Wi-Fi Becomes Unstable When Charging During Gaming
My Wi-Fi becomes unstable whenever my laptop is plugged in and charging, but it works normally when unplugged. Additionally, when using a LAN connection, the speed is capped at 100 Mbps instead of the expected higher speed. I would appreciate any help or solutions.

Overheating MSI Vector 16 HX
My son saved for two years and got himself this MSI Vector 16 HX in April this year. It been ok till now. Recently though its shutting down after fairly normal load. I’m a Mac sys admin, no idea about pcs really so I used Ai to assist troubleshooting. HWinfo logs showed an issue which along with Kernel-Power Event ID 41 / Event ID 6008 resulted in ai stating. This behaviour indicates a fault with the cooling system (thermal paste, heatsink seating, heatpipe or fan), not a software or configuration issue, and to seek repair or replacement. We changed maximum processor state to 98 before generating the logs and configured MSI center to balanced as well. What I’m asking is does this confidently look like a product issue where return is best. It’s still under warranty

Need help with weird performance
I have an msi katana a17 ai with a ryzen 7 ai and an rtx 4060. After not even an hour the laptop will start performing very poorly with severe frame drops. It feels like it's thermal throttling but it shouldn't be since the temps are around 40-60°C. Also the fans are on full speed the whole time and they don't slow down even after closing the game and waiting for a while (even fn + arrow key up doesn't work which is supposed to be fan control). Another thing is that turning DLSS on or off doesn't affect performance at all when this is happening. I'd really appreciate any help with this since it's very frustrating.

MSI Service Center quoted $880 for a motherboard, then $300 for a CPU? Need advice on this inconsistency
I’m looking for some insight into a very strange repair experience with an official service center (ServisPoint Turkiye) regarding my 5 years old MSI GL65 Leopard (10SFK-062).
The Specs:
Intel Core i7-10750H
RTX 2070
Upgraded: 64GB RAM, 2TB PNY NVMe + 960GB SanDisk SSD.
The Issue: While performing a routine thermal paste change, two screw heads sheared off (likely oxidation). During the process of removing the remaining parts of the screws, something went wrong. Now, the laptop won't boot—no fans, just a single light on the middle front panel.
1. Monday 2 PM: Laptop checked in.
2. Monday 5 PM: Tech calls and says the Motherboard (MOBO) has no power. Quote: $880 USD + VAT for a full replacement. I refused.
3. Tuesday: I pushed for extensive troubleshooting because of the status light.
4. The Pivot: The same technician calls back. Suddenly, he says it’s just a "CPU problem" and some other "unnamed components." New quote: \~$300 USD + VAT.
The Red Flags:
The Price Gap: Why was there a $500+ difference for the same non-functional machine within 24 hours?
The Hardware: As far as I know, i7-10750H is a BGA (soldered) chip. Usually, official centers replace the whole board. How are they quoting a "CPU replacement" for $300 unless they are doing board-level repair they previously claimed they wouldn't do?
Transparency: The tech refuses to provide component codes or photos of the damage.
The "US Product" Excuse: They are now claiming they "don't normally service US products" (bought via Amazon.com) as a reason for the friction.
My Questions:
1. Has anyone dealt with ServisPoint Turkiye? Is this "price sliding" normal?
2. If the CPU is soldered, is a $300 "CPU repair" even legitimate for an authorized center, or are they just trying to see what I’ll pay?
3. What should my next move be to get an honest diagnostic?

RFKILL Logic Failure in EC Firmware v1733EMS1.429 (MS-1733)
I am writing to report a critical issue with the EC firmware update for the MSI GE700 (MS-1733) series, specifically EC firmware version 1733EMS1.429.
I own two MSI GE700 laptops, and both systems exhibited identical failures immediately after applying this official EC firmware update.
After updating to EC firmware 1733EMS1.429, the following issue occurs:
The Wi-Fi hardware toggle (Fn + F8) no longer functions.
The WLAN adapter is correctly detected by the operating system.
When the Wi-Fi card is physically removed, the WLAN driver disappears as expected, confirming that the PCIe interface and WLAN hardware are functional.
Other EC-controlled devices such as Bluetooth, camera, and pointing devices continue to toggle normally.
The issue persists across multiple operating systems, including different Windows installations.
This clearly indicates that the EC firmware is no longer asserting the WLAN RF\KILL signal correctly, while other EC functions remain unaffected.
The following steps were thoroughly tested on both laptops:
EC reset (AC removal, battery removal, power drain)
BIOS default reset
Multiple operating system installations
Driver reinstallation and rollback
WLAN hardware replacement and verification
None of these steps restored WLAN toggle functionality.
The problem only appeared after the EC firmware update.
Both systems were fully functional before the update.
The issue is 100% reproducible on two identical GE700 systems.
This behavior strongly suggests a firmware-level regression affecting the WLAN RF_KILL control logic.
Currently, EC firmware version 1733EMS1.429 is the only version available on MSI’s official support website.
Model: MSI GE700
Mainboard: MS-1733
EC Firmware: 1733EMS1.429
BIOS Version: E1733IMS.10D
Operating Systems Tested: Windows7, windows10 , linux
I earnestly request older EC version 4.23 for downgrade (1733_423.zip etc... or patched ROM file l).

Buzzing noise on my GF63
I bought this one used and it had no problems at first. Recently it started making a weird buzzing sound sometimes. It's a fairly short, low noise, goes like brrrt and I can't figure out why it happens. My drivers are up to date, I've tried restarting the laptop, which sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. One time it froze up and made the noise for a longer time, but usually it's just short bursts.
Does anyone know what this is and how to fix it?

Sometimes wired headphones is detected, and in windows settings the volume bar is moving but there is no sound. Not sure what the cause is, and usually fixes itself in days or 1-2 weeks. Any solution for this?

CPU power throttling Intel CPU-s
Hello everyone, I wanted to share if anyone is having issues with high temperatures and power throttling, I have found solutions that works on Cashy-OS (Or maybe every other distro) and Windows as well.
For the start. For windows use xtu tuning utility. Set turbo boost power on both sides from default 200 down to 27-35w ( I use 27). You can modify it to start on system start up. This should lower temps by 20 degrees, depends from game to game. Fps stays the same!!!
Now for the interesting part. For a long time I wondered if I can do this in Linux as well since I dual boot. Turns out you can. Simply by using the terminal with 2 simple commands. As long as I knew this feature is built in the kernel and should technically work on any distro? But its a thing called Intel rapl. Its supposed to control total package power. Now just like on windows. You can set same parameters or different ones. Good thing you can do this while in game.
For the short explanation u have constant 0 which is maximum package power?
And you have constraint 1 which is your power for turbo boost (which generates the most heat probably)
On my mashine I have set constraint 1 to 27 and 0 to factory 45.
Commands:
echo "45000000" | sudo tee /sys/class/powercap/intel-rapl/intel-rapl:0/constraint 0 powerlimit uw
echo "27000000" | sudo tee /sys/class/powercap/intel-rapl/intel-rapl:0/constraint 1 powerlimit uw
I hope this wasn't to long, and I would be happy if it helps anyone.
Edit: Few grammar corrections 😅
Also I tested this method on world of tanks on cashy os. Before I had 85-93 °C and after I had 65-70 °C!!!!
And at the same time keeping my fps hovering around 150. On both cases I used max fan speeds.
Oh forgot to add, my laptop is MSI Katana GF66 12UE with rtx 3060.

Audio issue acpi crackle and how downgrade bios
Hi, I’m looking for a way to downgrade the BIOS on an MSI Creator Z17 A12UHT (2022).
Since updating to BIOS E17N1IMS.115, my system has become ¹unstable:
ACPI-related issues as Audio crackling / glitches (especially under load with traktor or on youtube)
And now also Wi-Fi disappearing.
I’ve already tried: Clean driver reinstall (also Intel only, no Killer),Removing drivers via pnputil, BIOS reset or optimized defaults.
LatencyMon always shiw ACPI.sys power-related behavior looks off
Some moths agi Everything was more stable than now..I think before this BIOS update 115 , so at this point I strongly suspect a regression introduced by the new BIOS, which seems to have added new problems instead of fixing anything.
I’d like to try with old BIOS versions ( E17N1IMS.111), but MSI doesn’t seem to host them anymore.. or is it hidden?
After days of optimization in this hell, this desperate man has even started to have crazy thoughts like
"Maybe if I had a mac.."
Brothers help me to find my way back to the right path.
