Applications are invited for a fully funded position for a PhD candidate to work on the development and application of a novel framework for personalised health interventions that combines elements of contextual bandits, causal prediction, and online learning.

The successful candidate will be based in the Amsterdam Machine Learning Lab (AMLab) led by prof. Max Welling within the Informatics Institute of the Faculty of Science of the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The research will be supervised by dr. Joris Mooij of AMLab and dr. Danielle Belgrave of Microsoft Research Cambridge.

To explore what our universe is made of, scientists at CERN are colliding protons, essentially recreating mini big bangs, and meticulously observing these collisions with intricate silicon detectors. Analyzing the enormous amounts of data produced from the experiments is becoming an overwhelming challenge.

To help address this problem, this competition challenges you to build an algorithm that quickly reconstructs particle tracks from 3D points left in the silicon detectors. This competition will be held in two phases, the first of which is entirely hosted on Kaggle. Information on the entire TrackML challenge can be found here.

دکتر محسن سریانی در سال 1359 مدرک کارشناسی خود را در رشته مهندسی برق – الکترونیک از دانشگاه علم و صنعت ایران اخذ کرد. او پس از دریافت بورس تحصیلی از وزارت علوم، به ترتیب در سالهای 1366 و 1369 مدارک ارشد و دکتری خود را از دانشکده مهندسی برق و کامپیوتر دانشگاه هریوت-وات در شهر ادینبورو در اسکاتلند با تخصص های "روشهای دیجیتال" و " پردازش تصویر" دریافت نمود. در سال 1369و پس از فراغت از تحصیل، در دانشکده فنی دانشگاه مازندران به عنوان عضو هیات علمی مشغول به کار گردید. در سال 1381 به گروه هوش مصنوعی و رباتیک دانشکده مهندسی کامپیوتر دانشگاه علم و صنعت ایران پیوست و در حال حاضر در این گروه با مرتبه دانشیاری مشغول به کار است. زمینه های پژوهشی مورد علاقه وی شامل پردازش و تحلیل تصویر، بینایی ماشین، پردازش تصاویر پزشکی و معماری کامپیوتراست. وی در حال حاضر رئیس انجمن علمی "بینایی ماشین و پردازش تصویر ایران" http://www.ismvip.ir/ است.

Recent research in Machine Vision, Some sample Cases.

چکیده:
حس بینایی مهم ترین حس در انسان است و انرژی که مغز انسان برای بینایی صرف می کند قابل مقایسه با مصرف انرژی برای سایر حواس نیست. در سالهای اخیر آلگوریتم های بینایی ماشین و پردازش تصویر در جهان و کشور ما رشد بسیار خوبی داشته اند. از جمله کاربردهای بینایی ماشین می توان به شناسایی کاراکتر، شناسایی اعمال انسان، مکانیابی و نگاشت همزمان (SLAM)، واقعیت مجازی (Augmented Reality) و شناسایی و تشخیص پزشکی (CADe & CADx) اشاره کرد. اینها بخشی از موضوعاتی هستند که در سالهای اخیر در آزمایشگاه پردازش تصویر دانشکده مهندسی کامپیوتر دانشگاه علم و صنعت ایران مورد تحقیق قرار گرفته اند.
در این ارایه، جدیدترین یافته ها در موضوعات مورد اشاره مورد بررسی قرار خواهند گرفت.

مهمترین هزینه ها در صورت نداشتن خوابگاه، شامل اجاره منزل هست که از ۳۰۰ تا ۱۰۰۰ یورو معمولا متفاوت هست و هزینه های خورد و خوراک هم برای یک نفر حدود ۱۵۰ تا ۳۰۰یورو پیش بینی میشود ،
با درنظر گرفتن هزینه های تلفن همراه، حمل و نقل، آب و برق و گاز برای یک نفر در یک شهر متوسط، شاید ۴۰۰ تا ۶۰۰ یورو پیش بینی مناسبی برای هزینه ها باشد
البته خوابگاه هم میشه گرفت که فکر میکنم از 200یورو به بالا باشه و یکمقدار میشه تو هزینه ها صرفه جویی کرد
و همچنین اگر یک خونه رو 2یا 3نفر باهم اجاره کنند تا حد زیادی در هزینه ها صرفه جویی میشود.

Singapore airport may turn facial recognition on flight stragglers
Singapore's Changi airport is testing a facial recognition system it hopes will speed passengers through the facility.
Reuters reports it may use facial recognition could be to spot passengers who have missed the last boarding call for their flight.
"We have lots of reports of lost passengers, so one possible use we can think of is, we need to detect and find people who are on the flight. Of course, with permission from the airlines," Steve Lee, Changi Airport Group's chief information officer, told Reuters.
Mr Lee says that the airport is working with a number of companies and plans to have facial recognition in place in a year's time.
The newest terminal at Changi, T4, is already using facial recognition for self-service check-in options as well as bag drop, immigration and boarding.
Facial recognition is also used for check-in and boarding at Changi airport
When passengers drop luggage at unstaffed booths, a photo of their face is taken and then matched against the picture in their passport.
At automated security gates in immigration, another snap is taken and is used to verify a passenger's identity at the boarding gate.
Changi airport is looking at how it can implement the facial recognition technology in its three other terminals at bag drop and immigration as well as potentially in terminal five which is expected to be up and running in the next 10 years.
Mr Lee said: "Today you take passport, you show your face and you show your boarding pass.
"Then actually in future, you just take your face. You don't need your passport,"
