When we look at everything happening around us, read the paper, listen to podcasters, or watch the news, it all is so disturbing negative, and depressing, isn't it? If we take a moment to think about it. How many words do we see or hear in a day? And how many of them are good, positive, or uplifting?

This cycle of continual bad news and negativity is used to emotionally wear us down. Why? Well, if we are emotionally and psychologically weakened, physical ailments and weakness soon follow.

How do we break this cycle? Work at changing what we dwell upon. What do we allow to consume us? Fear and worry? Where do we live? In a place of true peace or are we forever immersed within noise and distractions? Do we complain about everything, yet do nothing to change what we complain about? Do we put all our hope in man and man's plans?

What if we start spending some time unplugged from the world view, help lift each other up, look to our creator instead of man, spend more time in nature, enjoying the beauty around us, grab every moment of joy and laughter, and refuse to be defeated?

Just some food for thought. Did you know the words we consume and speak, words which shape our thoughts, hold the power of life and death?

Proverbs 18:21

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Are we constantly consuming the fruit of doom, gloom, and death in which we are fed?
