McMedHacks is an 8-week-long program that aims to teach students and researchers fundamentals of medical image analysis and deep learning in Python. It consists of a series of in-depth workshop demos with Google Colab and seminar series given by leaders in the field. McMedHacks is a program organized by the EngerLab at McGill Medical Physics Unit and the Lady Davis Institute. Join MoMath’s Distinguished Visiting Professor for the Public Dissemination of Mathematics, Dr. Steven Strogatz, as he illuminates the fantastic idea at the heart of calculus. With the help of pictures and stories, he’ll trace where calculus came from and then show how it — in partnership with medicine, philosophy, science, and technology — reshaped the course of civilization and helped make the world modern. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you’ve taken calculus or not, and whether you like math or not. The Data Science Summer School 2022 is now officially open for registration.
DS3 is a series of workshops on the exciting methods and applications of data science to help navigate in the complex digital world of data today. The Summer School is completely free, available to everyone globally, and organised by the Hertie School Data Science Lab and funded by the Hertie School.
In this iteration, DS3 will deliver five courses on the foundational knowledge of data science, including Python and R programming and the fundamental mathematics essential to the success of data scientists. Three advanced courses will focus on some of the latest development in methods and applications in the field including Generative Adversarial Neural Networks and Transformers architecture.

The program is designed to strengthen participants’ ability to thrive in mathematical biology research and showcase open areas of research. The program will cover a set of the mathematical, computational, and statistical models frequently used in applied research in life and earth sciences. Participants will receive an intuitive overview of the diversity of modern quantitative modeling approaches available.
