According to the report, the letter from the Saudi King to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, was received very positively by Iran.

The following points were raised in the letter by the Saudi King:

– King Salman expressed support for the US-Iran talks regarding the Iranian nuclear program, and urged Iran to reach a deal that would stabilize the region. Notably, in 2015, Saudi Arabia opposed a nuclear deal.

– King Salman expressed the willingness of Saudi Arabia to play an active role in these negotiations, and offered to host informal meetings between Iranian and U.S. officials during Trump's upcoming visit to Riyadh, which Iran rejected.

– The King urged Iran to use its regional influence to convince Yemen's Ansarallah movement not to target Saudi Arabia or the UAE, and to reduce tensions in the Red Sea.
