'This is not the first time that some in Lebanon have proposed the disarmament of Hezbollah; but just as previous anti-Lebanese plans did not succeed, this time too it will not reach its goal, and the resistance will stand firm against these conspiracies.
When the resistance had much fewer resources and less power, these plans were left fruitless — now that it has much stronger popular support and far greater capabilities, surely these discussions will not succeed.
Today, the resistance in Lebanon is welcomed and accepted by all Lebanese, including many Christians, Shiites, Sunnis, and others. Resistance means the dignity of Lebanon, and Lebanon's life and security depend on the resistance. The Lebanese people have not forgotten that when the resistance was absent, around 1982, the Israelis advanced all the way to southern Beirut and the Dahieh area, but ultimately were forced to retreat due to Hezbollah's resistance.
If Hezbollah lays down its arms, who will defend the lives, property, and honor of the Lebanese? Have the past experiences not been a lesson for some politicians in this country?
This process in Lebanon is only the desire of the United States and Israel. The U.S. and Israel think they can bring another puppet to power in Lebanon; but this dream will never come true, and Lebanon will stand firm as always.
