🇮🇷/🇺🇳 NEW: Iranian lawmakers are confused, as the IAEA and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi have both narrated completely different versions of the Iran-IAEA agreement

Araqchi says that IAEA inspectors will not be given access to Iran's bombed nuclear sites (Natanz, Fordow and Esfahan), which would be a good thing if true.

Grossi, on the other hand, says that Iran HAS in fact agreed to such inspections, AND that Iran will also reveal the location of the enriched uranium. This version of the text had also been leaked to Iranian lawmakers.

The parliament is now pressing Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to publish the full text of the agreement, which has still been kept secret for unspecified reasons, which seems at least slightly suspicious.

In short, the Iran-IAEA cooperation framework may not be as bad as previously thought — but we need clear proof.

❗️🇸🇾/🇷🇺 BREAKING: Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa reveals that Russia and HTS had made a secret agreement during the battle of Hama in December 2024

According to Al-Sharaa, Russia did not have 'any particular attachment' to President Bashar Al-Assad, and reached out to HTS for cooperation during the fall of Hama, concluding that all hope for Assad was lost.

From that point onwards, Russia withdrew from fighting alongside the Syrian Arab Army, and instead stood silently on the side of HTS.

— NOTE: I think that anyone who blames Assad's fall on Russia or Iran is wrong.

It is clear there was some kind of defection, incompetency or lack of determination on the side of the Syrian Arab Army. If they weren't fighting, there's nothing Russia or Iran could have done to change the situation.

Russia is a pragmatic country, they don't care about ideology, they only cared about Assad because he safeguarded their interests in Syria. As long as Jolani was willing to protect Khmeimim and allow Russian interests to be guaranteed, Putin was fine with it.

I'm not saying that being pragmatic and not caring about ideology is a good thing. But that's just how Russia is. Blaming Russia for Assad's fall is simplistic and lacks critical analysis.
