Solving the 'Identically Named Items' Problem Forever: The Rename Compat Project! (Celebrating 500k! Now a proven commodity! The haters and cattails are in SHAMBLES)

Do you hate installing compatibility patches? Do you hate stripping assets from mods that authors worked hard on just to make them fit better with other mods? Do you hate having 7 different kinds of Cattail? Do you hate having to choose only one major biome mod? The Rename Compat Project is here to help with all of this and more.

Earlier this year I sought out to solve a problem that's been plaguing Minecraft modding since the very beginning; duplicates. Every mod loves to add silver. What if I don't want nine different kinds of silver that all do varyingly different things in a completely inexplicable way? What if I'm actually insane and want nine different kinds of silver that have slight name differences that makes their differences somewhat more justifiable in my head?

This resource pack will rename (almost!) everything in modern modded minecraft that shares a name with something else to... something else. Usually, something with more specificity. Two mods add turkey? Cool, one of them is a Forest Turkey now because that one spawns in forests. Got eight duplicates of the Maple wood set? Now you have eight different VARIETIES of Maple wood sets. Incompatibilities become variety. Limitation becomes possibility. Where some approaches to this problem choose to remove or strip away assets, The Resource Compat Project says, 'There is room for us all'.

The Resource Compat Project has been included in: BMC2, BMC4, BMC5, Medieval MC 3, Medieval MC 5, Fear Nightfall: Remains of Chaos, and many others!

Are Modders allowed to use Patreon as per the Minecraft EULA?

I've been looking at the Minecraft EULA and they state that modders can do anything they want with their mods "as long as you don't sell them for money / try to make money from them"

My understanding of this is that modders wouldn't be allowed to use patreon to make money from their mods. Yet I've seen mods doing just that (see: Aether Mod Patreon ).

Have I maybe missed something or misunderstood something? I thought maybe the rule just applies to locking content behind a paywall but it seems to be any sort of 'trying to make money from them'
