Our esteemed scholar, the muhaddith Sheikh Muhammad Ali Adam Al-Ityūbi - may Allah have mercy on him, forgive him, and elevate his status - said:
قال شيخنا العلامة المحدث محمد علي ادم الإتيوبي - رحمه الله وغفر له ورفع درجته - :
فيا أيها العَاقل اللبِيب لا تكن أسيرَ التقليد، فإنّه حُجة البَليد، ومَلجأ العَنيد، بل كُن مع الحَقِ ودُر مَعه حيثما دار، تَنجُ من مخازي دَار البوار، أعاذنا الله منها الرحيم الغفار.
[ البحر المحيط الثجاج : ( ١ / ٤١٧ )]
"O intelligent sensible one, do not be a captive of blind-following, for it is the evidence of the clueless, and the refuge of the stubborn. Instead, be with the truth and cling to it wherever it may be found, seeking refuge from the pitfalls of destruction. May Allah the Merciful and Forgiving protect us against it."
[Al-Bahr Al-Muhit Al-Thajjaj: (1/417)]
