The Pacific Palisades water reservoir in California sat empty for almost a year because it needed minor repairs. Why would it take from February through November to get a contract signed off for these repairs? It was expected to reopen in February.

Even though this water reservoir on its own would not have stopped the massive devastation, it would have helped a little. Incompetence.

Emptying of the reservoir began in February after a tear in the floating cover measuring several feet allowed debris, bird droppings and other objects to enter the water supply. State regulators ordered DWP to drain the site to avoid contamination.

DWP sought bids for the repair in April, at a cost of up to $89,000. In November, the utility signed off on a contract with a Lakeside firm for about $130,000, records show.

The status of the repairs is unclear. The DWP's employee union leader condemned the months-long wait to restore the reservoir.

“Mr. Wonderful” Kevin O’Leary is partnering up with another investor in a bid to save TikTok and hopes China and the Supreme Court will allow them to make it “wonderful again.”

The “Shark Tank” star is teaming up with Project Liberty founder Frank McCourt to purchase the platform’s US assets from its parent company, ByteDance, and “rebuild the platform in a way that prioritizes the privacy of its 170 million American users.”

TikTok is facing a potential ban due to the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, a law signed by President Biden that passed in Congress last April with bipartisan approval.

“I want to work with him [McCourt] because he’s done far more work on the algorithm, and he lets me be part of this deal so that we can buy TikTok without buying the Chinese spyware” O’Leary told “The Big Money Show” Tuesday.
