Hey Guys,

It has been a while since we had our last Q update. It's amazing that we haven't had any complaints/bugs since the last update and the build is working smoothly.

The work was never stopped, the project has been rebuilt from scratch considering a lot of opportunities in mind, the team has been working really hard to improve the quality of the project in every aspect.

The announcement of the changes will follow soon, stay tuned for more updates!

Needless to say but if you're facing any issues that I'm unaware of or have a request, let me know soon so the changes could be included in next release.

Meanwhile, if you are keen to try unreleased build, join @NikGappsGroup. Of course the build comes with several changes.

Time for a Q update! (27-April-2020)

- Introducing NikGapps Go! A lite version of gapps
- Fixed backup/restore issue with pixel setup wizard
- Fixed Bad/Rom Recovery issue reported for some devices

- Made Lawnchair a system app

Note:
- This is a stable build, YouTube vanced version update and apex mounting will come up in next experimental release.
- Lawnchair recents provider works only on two buttons navigation bar and gesture navigation so make sure you're not using 3 button navigation bar

Note:
- Clean Flash Needed!
- Flash only if you want to try beta/experimental features!
- nikgapps.config is updated with all the apps and will always be updated automatically in future if there are any new packages added
- LawnchairRecentsProvider is set to 0 by default, meaning if you want Recents provider to be part of installation, update nikgapps.config and set the value to 1 before flashing the zip.
- Since nikgapps.config is updated, I'd advise you to delete existing config file so the zip copies a fresh new file for you.
- existing config file will still be applicable and installation will be according to that
- Overriding existing gapps will allow you to install NikGapps on top of rom with existing gapps or other gapps packages (its WIP, will be better with every release)
- Please Please Please don't ask about updating youtube vanced or addons. That's trivial for now since existing version is seamlessly working, doesn't mean I won't ever update it, just adding important features to NikGapps is on priority for me.

Hi Everyone,

Exactly one year ago we started this channel and NikGapps support group.

It has been an amazing journey so far, starting the project from scratch is never easy, the project is growing more than ever. Thank you for all your support in making this project what it is today.

With this milestone, we are excited to announce that NikGapps is now becoming Open Source.

You can find it here. The repository will be updated with the noscripts and information on how you can create the packages yourself soon.

Feel free to contribute by sending pull requests to the repository :)

Experimental Build (24th June)

Changelog:
- Revamped the whole mounting mechanism
- Fixed mounting issues with newer twrp version (3.4)
- Add support for Devices with Dynamic Partitions (Thanks to @merothh)
- Made nikgapps.config location portable (now installer also supports reading the file from the same directory gapps zip is)
- Remove AOSP Browser, Email, Gallery with Chrome, Gmail, Photos installation
- Fixed an issue that uninstalled playstore updates with dirty flashing NikGapps
- Updated nikgapps.config with Go Apps (You can now configure Go apps installation too)
- Added Android Device Policy to support Work Profile (Starting Stock Package)
- Moved Lawnchair to priv-app as it is reported to work better being privileged app
- Debugging logs will now be better at reading (nikgapps.log)
- Playstore Updates (24th June)

Note:
About NikGapps config Portability
- You can now place nikgapps.config in the same folder as your nikgapps package (Optional)
- if the installer finds nikgapps.config in the same folder as your gapps zip, it will prefer reading that and skip reading the nikgapps.config file present in /sdcard/NikGapps folder
- if it doesn't find nikgapps.config in the same folder as your gapps zip, it will continue to read the nikgapps.config file present in /sdcard/NikGapps folder

Important!
If you're comfortable placing nikgapps.config in sdcard/NikGapps folder, continue to do that. This feature is only for those who format their internal storage and lose nikgapps.config.
