MinMicroG Installer

By MOVZX and FatherJony and FriendlyNeighborhoodShane

GitHub https://github.com/NoGooLag

MicroG Support Group: https://news.1rj.ru/str/joinchat/FyFlS0X2D7f6YNvdxhEsfw

This is a simple MicroG installer that only installs the minimum basics. It can install MicroG into your system partition or as a Magisk module. It supports virtually all mobile architectures (arm/64, x86/64, mips/64) and fully supports KitKat and above. It can also (mostly) support much older versions, but sync adapters and some location providers won't work. It can even uninstall itself from your device, just rename it and flash it again.

It contains an unofficial fork of MicroG (GMSCore, GSFProxy, Droidguard) (Compiled by MOVZX) with bumped version numbers so that apps don't complain about updating play.

The things included in the Standard Edition zip are:
-MicroG (GMSCore, GSFProxy, Droidguard)
-Google Play store (modded by Setialpha)
-UNLP backends (Dejá vu, LocalGSM, LocalWiFi, Mozilla, Nominatim)
-FDroid with privileged extension
-Swype libs for AOSP keyboard
-Some Google DRM jars
-Google Sync adapters for KK to O
-Permission files for all of this
-An addon.d file to backup/restore everything on a rom flash

The things included in the NoGoolag Edition zip are:
-MicroG (GMSCore, GSFProxy, Droidguard)
-FakeStore
-Aurora Store
-FDroid with privileged extension
-UNLP backends (Dejá vu, LocalGSM, LocalWiFi, Mozilla, Nominatim)
-Permission files for all of this
-An addon.d file to backup/restore everything on a rom flash

The zip debloats 3 Google apps from your phone (GmsCore, GoogleServicesFramework, Phonesky and their MicroG counterparts) and 4 NLP providers. In Magisk mode, they won't be removed from system, and if you uninstall the pack, they'll come back. If you install in system, the debloated stuff will be stored in internal-storage/MinMicroG/Backup.
WARNING: This zip does not and never will debloat anything else because that is the minimum coming in MicroG's way. I have had my own share of PTSD with debloating. I believe (through guesswork) that it should work even on flashes over gapped ROMs, but don't take my word for it. Debloat before you flash.

For support:
If you flashed through recovery, provide its logs.
If you used Magisk Manager, provide its logs.

How to control the zip by changing its name:
NOTE: Control by name is not possible in magisk manager, since it copies the zip to a cache directory and renames it install.zip. This is unavoidable behaviour.

- Add 'system' to its filename to force it to install/uninstall from system. Otherwise, it looks for magisk, and if not found, installs to system. Obviously, if you flash it through Magisk manager, you want to install it to Magisk. If not, you have to flash through recovery.

- Add 'uninstall' to its filename to uninstall it from your device, whether in magisk mode or system mode. If you use Magisk Manager, your preferred method of uninstallation is from there.

Just rename it and flash it again for the intended effect.

NOTE:
-MicroG showing wrong signature for Phonesky? Lemme guess... System mode? Dirty flashed? Go to shell and type (ofcourse with su):
pm grant com.android.vending android.permission.FAKE_PACKAGE_PERMISSION
-Dirty flashing not recommended. you'll mess up all your permissions and may even cause conflicts in app data, leading to crashes.
The maker does not support or endorse dirty flashing. It will harm you and your loved ones. Don't come complaining to me.

Thanks to @osm0sis for the base magisk/recovery code and inspiration and guidance on the majority of the stuff in here. You're awesome.
Thanks to @Setialpha, the creator of NanoDroid, and ale5000 for the lib installation code and permissions code.

A feature packed AOSP-based ROM while still being lightweight and easy to use. Some of the features are a system-wide dark mode and customizations. AOSDP has a big focus on privacy, including FOSS apps and NO Google binaries. We made it as secure as possible by keeping it Google-less. MicroG and Substratum are also fully supported.

Go in @aosdpx to vote for the features/apps you want to see in the Rom. You can also join the official discussion group of the Rom in there.

MicroG

It's an opensource alternative to Gapps. It replaces Google Play Services and prevents Google from getting your precious data.
It's much more lightweight in disk space and ram and it's battery friendly.
You will get more privacy and avoid Google spyware

Why?

How much info is Google getting from your phone?

This is the question asked by a journalist; then went around the town with two smartphones, without SIM, no data during travel, one even in airplane mode, and they analysed all the traffic that got sent to Google. And the result is just amazing...

To uninstall ale5000's microG pack, inside the zip there's a uninstall.sh. Run it as root and reboot. If running on TWRP, mount System first.

Hey guys. A quick update. We rebased on GZOSP as its a stable base and a clean Rom. The Rom should be "buildable" but isn't tested yet. You can check the sauce at: https://github.com/AOSDP. 0.1 Version should come pretty soon;)
Google Secretly Tracks What You Buy Offline Using MasterCard Data

Over a week after Google admitted the company tracks user's location even after they disable location history, it has now been revealed that the tech giant has signed a secret deal with MasterCard that allows it to track what users buy offline.

According to four unidentified people with knowledge of the deal cited by the news outlet, Google and MasterCard reached the agreement after a four-year negotiation, wherein all MasterCard transaction data in the U.S. has been encrypted and transmitted to Google.

FSFE Call to Action: Save Free Software this September

https://fsfe.org/news/2018/news-20180905-02.de.html
2018-09-05

Free Software is at risk! On the 12th of September the EU is getting ready to vote on a "Copyright Reform" package, which undermines the foundations upon which Free Software is built. The proposed Article 13 of the EU Copyright Directive targets every online service that allows its users to upload and share content with each other, including code hosting platforms.

Let’s call upon European policy makers to delete the threat posed against Free Software in the Copyright Directive.

The widespread reuse of Free Software is a foundation of the Internet, as code can be used, studied, shared and improved by each user. It would be wrong to take this freedom for granted. Since most of the internet medium is compiled and reused as Free Software, the ruling would dismantle the media ecosystem.

We are getting ready for the EU’s vote on a "Copyright Reform" package, in order to remove a section of its terms and conditions that looks to hamper Free Software development and code-sharing. Every Internet user, who shares information, media, and code with the public, has been targeted in the proposed directive. The idea in Article 13 is that Free Software is a cause for copyright violations and that, therefore, upload-filters should be created by internet platforms.

https://saveyourinternet.eu

There are even a variety of types of governmental organisations, facilitated and powered by Free Software. In fact, on just one of the major code hosting platforms, over 128 government organisations from over 17 European governments have, in total, licensed 4594 instances of Free Software on code-hosting platforms, at the time of writing. They are, as follows: Open Government initiatives, Cutural heritage directories, Ecology research departments and agencies, Digitalisation projects, Emergency Services, Information Systems, Election Services, Transport networks, Education institutions, Energy services, Mapping and Geographical research institutes, Statistical bureaus, Business departments, Law courts, Security groups, and Departments of Finance.

So, for those inside the EU, now’s the time to do your bit and to communicate with an MEP, who represents your country, in order to notify your support for Free Software in the face of Article 13 in the Copyright Directive.

Do that at saveyourinternet.eu, where there are tips on who and how to address and send your message. When you’re ready, you can even use a tool, created by EDRi and Open Media, to directly call and e-mail your MEP.

Let’s call upon European policy makers to delete the threat posed against Free and Open Source Software in the Copyright Directive.
