I was going to do my last swag drop of the day near the NL-1331 portal, but it’s too crowded in the area to find a place to sit. So instead I’m hanging out in the lobby of the Ala Moana hotel with the swag pack.

The Cryptic Memories Global Op starts tomorrow. From 1700 UTC January 12 to 1700 UTC Feburary 5, agents can earn points toward a new in-game badge. Agents earn 1 point for each resonator destroyed and 2 points each time they deploy a resonator or upgrade another agent's resonator. Earn 1500 points for bronze or 15,000 points for silver.

This badge is separate from the Cryptic Memories anomaly medal, but earning the global op badge can contribute to the anomaly score for your faction (exact details to be released in the coming weeks).

On Monday, a shadowy operative slipped a small package into my hand – a couple of innocuous pieces of toast concealing a tiny thumb drive. Curiosity piqued, I rushed to my secure terminal and accessed the drive's contents, revealing a single video file. The grainy footage flickered to life, bearing an all-too-familiar insignia – the mark of the long-dormant Ingress Report. Yet, something seemed amiss; subtle discrepancies hinted at an unsettling deception. Given the date, and some obvious differences from the original version, I had my doubts, so I’ve spent the last couple of days vetting it.

A deepfake? An elaborate hoax? Days of analysis yielded nothing definitive. The source? A ghost. The information? Tangible. Too real to ignore.

Weighing the potential consequences, I realized the world deserved to know, even if the source remained an enigma cloaked in shadows.
