A friend of mine walked into a coin shop with the full intention of buying real silver. I had told him exactly what to do. I even gave him the address of a trusted local shop. I said it clearly, do not let anyone talk you into paper or storage. Get physical silver in your hand.

But when he left that shop, he didn’t have any metal.

What he walked away with was a derivative, a paper product that claims to represent silver but isn’t silver at all. And here’s the wake-up call: this didn’t happen online or through some shady broker. This happened at a physical coin shop. A place most people would assume only deals in real bullion.

This is how the deception works.

Even at reputable shops, if you’re not assertive and crystal clear about what you want, they can and will sell you something else. Maybe it’s silver in a “storage vault,” maybe it’s a certificate or pooled silver account. They’ll dress it up with official language. It will sound legitimate.
