OpenST protocol v0.9.3 has just been published to Github!

OpenST v0.9.3 is a milestone release as we complete the first two types of a gateway and improve the usability of the OpenST protocol.

The OpenST Gateway consists of three elements: (1) a gateway contract on the Ethereum value chain, (2) a corresponding co-gateway contract on the OpenST utility chain, and (3) a transformation function "t" that acts on tokens types defined on the value chain to transformed tokens on the utility chain.

Alpha III is a continuation of our challenges with the addition of the first end-user wallet features for OST, called Wallet-Lite. The OST Ledger and Balance APIs enable developers to create embedded wallet features that enable end-users to view their token balances and transaction histories. This is an essential step towards making tokenization more real and tangible for mainstream audiences.

Each team will receive 75,000 OST tokens for completing the challenge. The 8 “Best of OST Alpha” teams will earn 250,000 additional OST tokens. 3 of the “Best of” projects will be chosen through community voting.

From ICO Purchasers to Token Utility

Many of the developers participating in OST alphas have been with OST from the beginning, as participants in the Simple Token ICO last year. So far we have discovered more than a dozen ICO purchasers who are already developing on OST. Today these developers are staking OST-a on testnet to power their Branded Token integrations. Soon they will stake OST on mainnet.
