Today we are releasing OpenST v0.9.1 which marks the move of OpenST from Ethereum testnet to mainnet, as well as several important steps towards mainstream businesses launching their branded token economies with Simple Token.

In this 0.9.1 release we implement the first cornerstone of the OpenST protocol: the ability to stake value on Ethereum mainnet and mint a new representation of that value on a utility chain, effectively increasing the computational capacity of Ethereum mainnet by sharding across different cores. OpenST smart contracts have also been restructured to store value separately from the logic that implements the protocol.

Today we’re launching ostKYC: the first crypto-powered plug-and-play KYC/AML management solution for ICOs.

We developed ostKYC for our own use during the Simple Token “OST” ICO.

Leading up to the OST ICO we researched existing KYC / AML & Whitelisting solutions in the market and found that most ICO projects (and their customers) were less than happy with the user experience of 3rd party solutions, while those solutions often cost between $400,000 to $800,000 to process 20,000+ records. Our team has a long history of developing and scaling products that simplify complex business problems. After careful research and analysis we determined that we would be better off building our own homegrown KYC solution, in partnership with Cynopsis Solutions, rather than going with a 3rd party.
