@otgdispatch/RUST if you want a secure messaging app that isn't Signal, you can use Wire, which only requires a username. Also you don't need to use a real phone number for Signal you can use GVoice or the Burner app :)

Thanks PPB! We know about them. Wire is great but hasn't been as adopted yet by folks here like it has been in other cities. I would love to see the transition from signal to wire because of it's higher security function. Signal has a lot of drawbacks since big group chats basically doxx everyone in them who is using their real phone number, which you shouldn't do, but people do anyway.
