Request list as of 1am: tents, sweatshirts, diabetic testing kits, batteries, small coolers to help with cooling perishable foods. They want to be able to keep more proteins and cook things but they don’t have a way to keep perishables safe.

Seems there was a late night budget meeting. According to the Inky, the "cuts" everyone will be bragging about today are made up of a) not giving them and increase and b) moving crossing guards and public safety officers to the managing director.

So it's a shell game.

This Tuesday two marches from west and south will converge on City Hall. These groups are working on the #defundppd campaign which is pushing the city to cut $120Million from the police budget.

Last week during budget meetings one of our City leaders made the comment that there didn't seem to be "public will" to defund the police because *one* of the demonstrations last week only had 50 attendees. This was their justification for not cutting more out of the grossly unbalanced budget. Defunding is not the end-goal, but it is a step down the path towards community care.
