On day of planned encampment clearing, city officials meet with organizers and a lawsuit puts the evictions on hold
The city had said the encampments would be cleared by 9 a.m. Two members of City Council asked Mayor Jim Kenney to continue negotiations.

So the Philly Housing Authority owns a bunch of land that they took through "eminent domain" bullshit and they are preemptively fencing off lots that could support a nearby encampment that might be swept soon.

A lot just blocks from Camp Teddy, by 21st and Oxford, is being fenced off by @PhilaHsgAuthPHA contractors this AM, presumably to prevent people from moving here if the camp is evicted. (PHA owns this entire block after seizing it via eminent domain.)

City never even showed up at the evictions today. Clearly had no intention to. My guess is they'll actually come for the eviction in the middle of the night this week, with no warning. Total random sudden terror is their preferred method after all.
