So the Philly Housing Authority owns a bunch of land that they took through "eminent domain" bullshit and they are preemptively fencing off lots that could support a nearby encampment that might be swept soon.

A lot just blocks from Camp Teddy, by 21st and Oxford, is being fenced off by @PhilaHsgAuthPHA contractors this AM, presumably to prevent people from moving here if the camp is evicted. (PHA owns this entire block after seizing it via eminent domain.)

insurrection summer
City never even showed up at the evictions today. Clearly had no intention to. My guess is they'll actually come for the eviction in the middle of the night this week, with no warning. Total random sudden terror is their preferred method after all.
Yeah this is exactly what we should focus on during the largest housing crisis, a pandemic, and largest anti police uprising in history. Let's just ignore uprising constituents and make their favorite spot to swim in the summer dangerous so their kids get injured jumping next year. So tone deaf

Philly Councilmember Curtis Jones supports call to fill Devil’s Pool with rocks
There are no current plans to fill in the natural water well, but that isn’t stopping nearby residents from calling for action.
OTG: Broadstreet line southbound is temporarily shut down because of train breaking down. Shuttle bus is being deployed
OTG: we think the shuttle bus broke down too. A tow truck just drove past carrying a bus
It would be a shame if all 697 of you called PHA tomorrow to leave complaints about the authority's policies and how it should be abolished if it cant meet demands. Let's hold their phone lines up and demand an end to homelessness by providing permanent housing.

While you're at it, call everyone of your elected officials and tell them it's time to put an end to homelessness by guaranteeing housing in every community.
