This movement is going to fail and needs to be restructured for success
This is not me trying to be pessimistic but I think it’s a realistic outlook on the situation as an outsider who has been watching the movement for a bit. 2 and a half months is simply not enough time to get this movement where it needs to be to see any realistic change without a major catalyst, which is unlikely to happen in that short of a time frame.
1. As an outsider looking in I think the entire movement needs a rebranding effort. First of all, please, STOP USING RED! Hell the discord logo for it is literally just a blank red circle! The flyer page literally has a RED FIST!!! This is America, when people see the term workers/working class and the color red, many peoples first thoughts are immediately “COMMIES!” I would personally suggest using blue, but preferably green as it has less of a political connotation than blue. Yellow and orange are bad as it’s hard to read and purple and pink won’t work. Green and white would likely be the best option or just black and white.
2. Overall branding for the movement is also a mess. The movement needs an easily replicable logo as well as a phrase that isn’t so “communist.” Don’t use “workers” or “general strike” use something like “labor strike” and have some simple logo of like a capital L and S that merge that can be easily drawn and copy pasted. Remember a large amount of the working class are republican/conservatives, so steering clear of anything remotely communist/socialist is for the best of the movement. I would also suggest avoiding political correctness as a whole and just kind of leave that aspect ambiguous and up to the individual as to avoid alienating a portion of potential participants in the movement.
3. There needs to be clear demands and a flyer to spread pinned at the top of the subreddit and replicated on all forms of social media. I have looked through this Reddit and other social media’s and I’ve found numerous different flyers with different demands and looks, this is just failure in building “brand recognition.”
4. The October 15th time frame is all around bad. With the state of the movement as is there will not be enough support by October, it’s that simple. Also, people won’t want to be outside with signs in the more northern states as temperatures drop with each passing day, and since this isn’t a 1 day strike it needs a good time frame. Sometime when it’s warm and comfortable to be outside like late April or May would be much better in order to organize protests and gatherings.
5. There needs to be much better work done on the social media pages. The tiktok is frankly atrocious. Get a charismatic individual (a white dude would probably be the best for the demographic you’re targeting) to make funny tiktoks following the current trends with a spin regarding the movement. Tiktok is the best social media for growing something that is small into something large and the fact is there needs to be daily tiktoks made regarding the movement.
For things like movements marketing is essential, and this movement has failed to do so properly and as a result nothing will come of this by October. It’s the sad truth but the movement itself is not large enough and the marketing is alienating right leaning individuals who are essential for this movement.

Hey everyone! I'm Sarah, the new national chair for what originally was the General Strike on October 15th. I joined the discord right in the middle of all of the changes in leadership and have found my way to the top (because apparently my Virgo rising likes organizing things so much and that is what this movement needed at the time).
Since then me and the diverse + amazing team of folks who now make up Labor Movement X are proud to listen, learn, and support everyone as we fight for fair rights for the working class in this country. We lost the password and login for the original account on here in the shuffle 😅 so I made a new account over at r/LaborMovementX
More than anything I'm someone who listens. All those with me on our national committee are fierce advocates for intersectionality and for making this Movement accessible to all. It's a movement started by the working class, for the rights of all of us. I think the original organizers had a great idea that spoke to a LOT of people who are feeling un-supported and outright mistreated in this country, myself included. We understand that not everyone can strike (at least not in the traditional sense of the word).
We've got a whole lot of great stuff coming out this week about our revised demands and plan of action. I'd love it if you joined us.

Anyone else hear about this? Would it be wise to wait and see if they successfully unionize and if so to get in touch with a leader and organize a strike? It would give this whole movement insane momentum and the media would be forced to cover it. Just spitballing
