Now that's leverage. Supermarkets can't get food

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/u-food-suppliers-having-trouble-183524384.html

"(Bloomberg) -- Some of the largest U.S. food distributors are reporting difficulties in fulfilling orders as a lack of workers weighs on the supply chain.

Sysco Corp., North America’s largest wholesale food distributor, is turning away customers in some areas where demand is exceeding capacity.

In July, the incidence of suppliers limiting or putting a cap on orders from customers was more than double what it was in January, its data show."

"Rouses Markets, a grocery chain, has struggled to stock its shelves in recent weeks, it told the WSJ.

CEO Donny Rouse said that it sometimes received just 40% of its orders from suppliers."

To anyone still considering this as an option....

Don't risk your livelihood on poorly organized stunt. For the record I've been doing my best to drum up support and help in any way but it is more than abundantly clear at this point that this particular attempt at a general strike is dangerous at best.

We need something better. Where you might find it, idk? But if you do let me know and don't say labormovementx either (looking at you mods) because I want nothing to do with these clowns.

Threshold petition

What if a petition is made for the 15th of every month with the understanding that the strike only happens if the signature goal is reached? If it fails then we start a new petition for next month and so on. Old signatures would not roll over so fresh petitions would help gauge current awareness.

The point is to take action only if and when we have the numbers. It also keeps the movement going into the future and increases potential for growth in numbers.

Make sure not to make this about communism

If people have not experienced living in a post-soviet country or a communist state, I don't really expect them to understand but communism is not and never was the answer.

My friend has to move into my living room

He's living with someone under the table while on Unemployment. That person is getting evicted 9/30 when the Moratorium ends.

He's been interviewing and has gotten close but no job yet.

He can't get a rental w/o a job and he can only spare $500/mo anyways. Approx 40 years old. Graduated from a pretty prestigious university.

He said he would have to live in a homeless shelter. "Under a bridge". His mom is homeless too.

Welcome to America. The Land of the Free and the Homeless?

Should I picket outside of my local Fox News station?

I live in Florida, been wondering about picketing outside the local Fox News station but wanted to know if it was or wasn’t a good idea.

Should I bring up October 15 , general strike etc? Is it too early? Lmk

In solidarity,

White House Taking steps to make, sell 100,000 affordable houses

It's not really high on the group's list but I think this is #2 behind student loan write offs imo.

If 100k renters now own, that will create a bunch of vacancies in the rental market that should drive down rents.

https://news.yahoo.com/white-house-taking-steps-create-215933086.html

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The Biden administration is taking steps to address a severe housing shortage in the United States by creating and selling 100,000 affordable homes over the next three years using existing funds and authorities, a White House official said.

The moves, to be announced on Wednesday, will focus on boosting home sales to individuals and non-profit organizations, while limiting sales to large investors, who scooped up one in six homes sold in the second quarter, the official said.

Rental prices, which typically follow the lead of house prices, are also a big concern, given that even before the pandemic 11 million families - or nearly a quarter of all renters - were already spending more than half their income on rent, according to administration officials."

Small actions lead to big changes. Use your voice and your dollar while shopping to tell these companies you won't stand for child slavery, plastic pollution, pay cuts, mandatory overtime, illegal sourcing, or deforestation. #boycott

Damnnn. Economists expected 750k new jobs in August. They got 235k

https://www.yahoo.com/news/economy-falls-short-expectations-235-123100507.html

To put this in perspective I read an article yesterday contemplating what happens in the Stock Market if they get 750k vs 600k?

"What happens in the Stock Market if they see a really low # like 500k?" 235k w/ millions about to lose unemployment is so abysmal.
