Threshold petition
What if a petition is made for the 15th of every month with the understanding that the strike only happens if the signature goal is reached? If it fails then we start a new petition for next month and so on. Old signatures would not roll over so fresh petitions would help gauge current awareness.
The point is to take action only if and when we have the numbers. It also keeps the movement going into the future and increases potential for growth in numbers.

Make sure not to make this about communism
If people have not experienced living in a post-soviet country or a communist state, I don't really expect them to understand but communism is not and never was the answer.

My friend has to move into my living room
He's living with someone under the table while on Unemployment. That person is getting evicted 9/30 when the Moratorium ends.
He's been interviewing and has gotten close but no job yet.
He can't get a rental w/o a job and he can only spare $500/mo anyways. Approx 40 years old. Graduated from a pretty prestigious university.
He said he would have to live in a homeless shelter. "Under a bridge". His mom is homeless too.

I live in Florida, been wondering about picketing outside the local Fox News station but wanted to know if it was or wasn’t a good idea.
Should I bring up October 15 , general strike etc? Is it too early? Lmk

White House Taking steps to make, sell 100,000 affordable houses
It's not really high on the group's list but I think this is #2 behind student loan write offs imo.
If 100k renters now own, that will create a bunch of vacancies in the rental market that should drive down rents.
https://news.yahoo.com/white-house-taking-steps-create-215933086.html
"WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The Biden administration is taking steps to address a severe housing shortage in the United States by creating and selling 100,000 affordable homes over the next three years using existing funds and authorities, a White House official said.
The moves, to be announced on Wednesday, will focus on boosting home sales to individuals and non-profit organizations, while limiting sales to large investors, who scooped up one in six homes sold in the second quarter, the official said.
Rental prices, which typically follow the lead of house prices, are also a big concern, given that even before the pandemic 11 million families - or nearly a quarter of all renters - were already spending more than half their income on rent, according to administration officials."

Damnnn. Economists expected 750k new jobs in August. They got 235k

To put this in perspective I read an article yesterday contemplating what happens in the Stock Market if they get 750k vs 600k?
"What happens in the Stock Market if they see a really low # like 500k?" 235k w/ millions about to lose unemployment is so abysmal.

5hr max work day for 5 days, instead of 8hr 4 days
I believe that we are alive to experience life, not serve sociopathic business owners and companies. You’re spending 15hrs (not including sleep) out of your 24 serving companies that could care less if you live or die while not even providing wages to cover your bills. By the time you get to and get back from work, cover basics, it’s time to go to bed so you can do it again the next day. Most, if not all of your day, is spent on being exploited basically. BILLIONS of people are subservient to this reality because 1000 sociopaths voted on it. This is where you’ll watch your youth and life dwindled away.
Now does a 25hr work week with livable wages sound better? Protest, write to the creators of this strike to change it to 5hrs max per day. Split shifts will create more jobs, people won’t dread the work week, they’ll get work done with better efficiency without burning out and dreading the next day.
I believe production and the quality of work will drastically improve. Over all, workers will be happier knowing that the day won’t be as long, so less problems will arise from workers trying to cut corners or waste time for the clock to run out. Less mistakes from burning out and frustration. As a business owner, that’s all that should matter, your sales and production, you’re not the Supreme Court. The type of work and it’s value compared to other types of jobs shouldn’t matter. You’re getting your profit, and your business is producing your products.
Livable wages and hrs, doesn’t mean job immunity. But if you work all day, you should be getting a wage that covers your bills. If you’re qualified for the job, you’re qualified for a livable wage.
If we improve school conditions, pay teachers more, require higher education for both teachers and students, and provide each teacher an assistant, we’ll have a more progressive future and better workers.
Change a 9 - 5 to a 9 - 2. Protest, and write to the creators of this strike to change it to 5hrs max per day for 5 days.

Biden's Infrastructure plan has jobs that pay $45-50/hour
https://news.yahoo.com/president-biden-says-jobs-pay-150318117.html
"I think of one word when I think of climate change: jobs, good-paying jobs," he said. "Not $7 or $12 or $15, but $45, $50 an hour, plus healthcare. That's what is needed."
"Biden's $45 figure is more than six times higher than the Federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour, which has remained unchanged since 2009, when Biden was vice president in the Obama administration.
Businesses are increasingly finding it difficult to attract talent by offering less than $15 an hour, making that a de facto minimum wage in some instances."
