Compency Crisis: a container ship hit the Francis Scott Key bridge in Baltimore and collapsed the entire structure.

Just a reminder for people who use portable generators. You have to change the oil every 50-100 hours of operation. If, in an emergency, you run the generator 8 hours a day, that's once a week.

If you got a solar inverter, a battery from signature solar and NO solar panels, you could run the generator only as long as necessary to fully charge the battery and then run silent and avoid wear and tear on your genny.

A bailing bucket is a piece of 3" PVC pipe used to pull water from a well when you don't have a pump. There's a check valve on the bottom, usually this is a foot valve from lowes or home depot. When you get it to the top of the well, you then dump it into a container. An additional feature could be to tie a string to the valve inside so you could simply drain it instead of pouring.
