While I do agree with the Remain In Mexico policy inacted by President Trump, I also have no problem with SCOTUS' ruling to allow it to be lifted because ruling for it ties one executive branch down to the actions of the previous. No, the Zimbabwe Dollar is not gold-backed

This article from yesterday outlines Zimbabwe’s plans to issue gold coins.

Reality Check: In the interests of clarity and truth (and before the GCR rumor mills ignorantly declare the ZIM is now gold-backed), issuing gold coins is not the same as gold-backing a fiat currency. The USA, Canada, Switzerland, Australia, etc. all mint national gold coins.

Does this mean that these fiat currencies are gold-backed? Nope.

Zimbabwe is in serious financial and economic trouble. The reason? Corruption, ineptitude and being controlled by the Central Banksters. Nothing new there.

Zimbabwe has vast, precious resources (like gold) but after a century of ineptitude and graft, they cannot get them out of the ground profitably. Just like USA oil companies being blocked from drilling/refining at every turn by the political and financial establishment, such is the case in Zimbabwe regarding their natural resources.
