📊 طبق آماری که توسط NRMP منتشر شده، در Match 2020، تنها ۱۵۱ پوزیشن رزیدنتی برای رشته PM&R ارایه شده که از میان آنها تنها «۹» پوزیشن به فارغ التحصیلان خارجی (IMGs) تعلق گرفته است.

USMLE STEP 2 CS has been discontinued.

“Following the May 2020 suspension of Step 2 CS due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we announced our intention to take 12-18 months to bring back a modified Step 2 CS exam that was appreciably better than the prior assessment. After reviewing current and anticipated progress with the exam and in consideration of the rapidly evolving medical education, practice and technology landscapes, we have decided to discontinue Step 2 CS. We have no plans to bring back Step 2 CS, but we intend to take this opportunity to focus on working with our colleagues in medical education and at the state medical boards to determine innovative ways to assess clinical skills.”

“The pathways for IMGs planning to participate in the 2022 Match (in March 2022) will expand on the pathways that were established for the 2021 Match. The existing five pathways will continue to be offered with some modifications. ECFMG|FAIMER has identified an additional pathway for evaluation of clinical skills. As a result of the addition of this sixth pathway and changes to certain eligibility requirements, we expect more IMGs to be eligible to pursue a pathway for the 2022 Match. Detailed information on eligibility is not yet available; please monitor the ECFMG website since we expect to publish guidelines very soon.

Consistent with the requirements for the existing pathways, IMGs who pursue one of the six pathways for the 2022 Match will be required to pass the Occupational English Test (OET) Medicine to satisfy pathway requirements.

OET Medicine is designed specifically for physicians, in consultation with physicians. The test assesses the health care-specific English language competency of physicians. It emphasizes the type of language physicians will need to communicate effectively in a clinical setting with peers and patients, including the ability to show empathy and to break down complex medical terminology and procedures into simpler language.”

🔴 Important tips for your Rank Order List (ROL):

🔹 The matching algorithm attempts to place you in the most preferred program possible, so be sure to rank programs in order of YOUR TRUE PREFERENCE and not where you think you will match. Go for your “reach” program.

🔹 Rank only those programs where you are able and would be happy to train. Putting a program on your ROL creates a binding commitment if a match occurs, so review carefully each program’s eligibility requirements and the contract you will be expected to sign. You should receive that information from programs during the application/interview process.

🔹 Do not rank programs where you did not interview. Programs do not rank candidates they have not interviewed, and no match will occur.

🔹 Be realistic about your competitiveness and the competitiveness of your preferred specialty (review Charting Outcomes in the Match). Consider creating a ROL that includes a mix of competitive and less competitive specialties and programs, and be sure to include at least one “safety” program.

🔹 Do not wait until the last minute to enter your ROL in the R3® system. The servers may be overloaded and working slowly.

🔹 Do not make last minute changes to your ROL. Most such changes are not well thought out, and applicants frequently regret them.

🔻 When a ROL is complete, it must be certified to be included when the matching algorithm is processed. The “Certify List” button in the R3 system prompts applicants to enter their unique R3 system password to confirm certification. By certifying a ROL, applicants are entering a binding commitment to train at any program with which they match (View Match Participation Agreement).

Applicants can confirm that the list is certified in two ways:
1️⃣ The “Applicant Status” field in the R3 system will change from “Ranking” to “Certified”
2️⃣ A confirmation email will be sent to the primary email address on file in the R3 system.

⚠️ Changing and Re-Certifying a ROL:
Changes can be made to a ROL after it has been certified; however, if a certified ROL is changed in any way, the new version MUST be re-certified to be used in the Match. The R3 system does NOT retain previous versions of a ROL, regardless of whether it was certified.
