⬇️ August 2024 security patch has been released (Android 14).

Google has started to roll out the monthly software update for August 2024. All supported Pixel devices (Pixel 5a 5G and newer) running Android 14 will receive these updates starting today, and the rollout will continue over the next week in phases. Fixed issues:

Display & Graphics
• Fix for issue with screen brightness flickering under certain conditions *[Pixel 8, 8 Pro]
General improvements for display performance and stability in certain conditions *[Pixel 8]

System
• Fix for issue occasionally causing devices to be in a reboot loop after factory reset in certain conditions *[Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a]

User Interface
• Fix for stability issues when switching from a user without a screen lock, to a user with a screen lock under certain conditions *[Pixel 5a (5G), 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, Fold, Tablet]

🤖 Google has released a minor update to Android 15 Beta 4.2.

Many were expecting the final release along with yesterday's event, but the Android 15 beta test continues, while new 9-series devices have come out with Android 14 on board. Presumably, a stable version of Android 15 will be released in September.

List of fixed issues in Beta 4.2:

• Fixed an issue where some devices were delayed in waking up.
• Fixed an issue where a gray transparent bar was appearing when using the camera.
• Fixed a camera issue that was causing low frame rates.
• Fixed a camera issue that was causing a crash when changing zoom values.
• Fixed an issue with camera saturation.
• Fixed an issue that was causing the UI to flicker.
• Fixed an issue that was causing the YouTube app to crash.

+ The "Device Diagnostics" feature, which was introduced in Beta 4, is missing from the settings.

🤖 The first beta of Android 15 QPR1 has been released.

Google is opening up the beta test for the first quarterly update for Android 15, which will be released in December this year.
